Anyone else seen it ?

Bit unfair me thinks but like the idea about the supercharged jag lump, OK until the Nikasil liners turn into chewing gum.

"Codpiece"..Does the editor want a slap!!.."Worn out boat anchor V6"..He definitely needs a slap..I bet the editor is jealous..He is probably too fat to fit in a classic..Sporty..Two door convertible..Talk of the town..Smile on ya face..Loud..Wish i had one..TVR wedge...Cheeky bastid!!..Ziga

PS:Just cos he drives a ford capri with a big arse Ford 302 V8 turbo fitted doesnt give him the right to slag off my Ford V6....scratchchin...Well maybe a little bit..type

I agree. My xjr8 pumped out 410bhp with a supercharger pulley upgrade. It felt ballistic in a 2t xj - what would it be like in a wedge?
Can't believe you could actually fit one in a wedge come to think about it though.

Just the kind of rubbish I stopped buying PPC over.

Every issue seems to be exactly the same, 'how to swap in a Chevy LS1 for £250' - or some other wholly fictional figure.

Whilst ever Will Holman is the editor, that magazine is going to be junk. He's obviously highly prejudiced against Rover V8's, and many other deservedly classic power plants.

The Cologne V6 is a decent little engine, and is strong as anything. Something PPC don't seem to understand.

Never mind, whilst they're debating how rubbish our cars are, we can be safe in the knowledge that nothing at this price point offers as much fun biggrin

Ditto....stopped buying it for the same reasons, always on about how poor the RV8 is compared to heavy iron Yank lumps!

Practial performance classic...Which is what i thought a TVR was?..Not sure how practical a Ford V8 turbo is..Quick maybe but pratical?...Which brings me back to the bird in the bath.."Prat Tickle" or more commonly known as a "Fanny Fart"..tongue out

Personally always liked the mag (on my 3rd subscription) due to them having a good sense of humour and a great suck it and see mentality toward modifications. They feature a good mix of cars including those built in someone's back yard, Oh and my 400 has been in readers yard twice too. Yeah they have a pop at the trusty old RV8 too much but when you look at the BHP per litre it's not really surprising.

The "in the bath" is always a bit of laugh, a couple of months ago it was a TDi into a Lotus yuck so don't take it too seriously guys we own wedges and therefore are all equipped with a sense of humour laugh

How about we construct and submit a response they seem to print anything ?

I had one before my M5 and that engine in a wedge would be mental and how they got around the electric's is unreal, that poor old gearbox is gonna go bang pretty quickly.

I've never seen PPC here in NZ, but I certainly won't be looking....
I have to say I don't like the them very much in red (the hardtop wedges that is...)
I can only say "Grrrrrr" , this is the typical bullst you get from that kind of mag.
Somehow the tatty model fits with the tatty article.

Let's face it though, the wedges are 'cheap and cheerful' types, and not a million miles away from kit cars. I have no problem acknowledging that, but the idea of simply dropping in a bigger lump 'for a grand' is just ridiculous.

And to knock the V6 and V8 is unfair - there were FAR worse engines around at that time, and there's no way a Jag or US V8 'megalump' will just 'drop in'. I know - I measured !!

What a total W.nker .....

(It just occurred to me that the whole article might be a bad taste joke......so that's how I'm taking it from now on)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think the Wedge looks beautiful and sexy, just like the bird in the bath. Maybe the editor of that article needs his eyes tested, which can be done free on the NHS, if he has spent all his money on the biscuit tin 'HE' drives.
