Hi all,

I've followed the instructions offered by the forums: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/mapping-a-dom... and here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map...

However, the website still isn't working.

Any help appreciated.

Theres essentially 2 steps - changing your nameserver settings at 123, then changing your blog settings at wordpress.com. I'd start by using a tool like www.whatsmydns.net to verify that your nameserver (ns) records have updated correctly.

You also need to wait for the changes in DNS to propagate. That could take quite a few hours.

Right. I've updated the NS in 123reg and changed the name servers and updated the mapping. According to the website...I've got a lot ticks...

Update:

Apparently I need to update the custom DNS on wordpress.com. What DNS will need to put into that?

The domain that you want people to use to get to your wordpress site.

Hello,

My name is Nerys and I work for 123 Reg.

I can see that you have stated that you have moved the nameservers for the domain to the Wordpress ones rather than the 123 reg nameservers. As such all DNS setting will need to be done directly with Wordpress. If you have been asked to change the DNS you will need to enter the record given to you for your domain. As you are using another companies nameservers, I cannot advise exactly how to do this.

If you wanted to manage the DNS with 123 Reg you would need to change the nameservers for the domain name back to 123 Reg and then you would set your DNS with us, and link to your Wordpress site by your DNS, usually an A record or a CNAME record.

Once you have made the adjustments your website should show correctly.

Regards,

Nerys
