a6 electro handbrake

any one know of a way to release the handbrake wen
it goes into wont release mode [red info on dash]

You can disconnect the parking brake module and this shoud release the brake

It depends on what the fault is apparently as to whether it works or not, you could also try this:-

Put your seatbelt on and put the car in 1st gear, then slowly pull away and it will automatically disengage the brake.

Seems the most common fault with the A6 not releasing is broken wires

its my daughters car in liverpool that has the fault
its auto and she did try the seat belt move and no luck,
the fault has righted its self she tells me,

It could be a broken wire or corroded connection, best have it checked out whilst the car is mobile
