Hi all,
I'm due to collect a new Mercedes and I suspect they will try to put me off due to the PDI not being done yet.

I wonder what it involves these days and how long it takes - including registration?

Thanks.

Pre delivery inspection. Was 2 hours labour a few years ago for a JLR.

Remove interior coverings, blue cling film type stuff from chrome kick plates, rear lights, alloy wheel centre caps. Remove covers from brake discs.

Set tyre pressures, fill washers and set jets, check fluids. Check wheel nuts.

Fill in and stamp service book.

Registering the car will be down to the Sales Dept.

Can't comment on your situation, but from my own experience of taking delivery of a new Astravan that had supposedly had its PDI I would strongly advise you to go over it very carefully, and not when it's covered in raindrops. I had a number of scratches and paint marks from other coloured vehicles on mine, along with a dented sill which I didn't notice until I washed it for the first time.

Thanks for the replies.I'm hoping to get it Friday but the lack of cooperation from the dealer so far isn't helping.
