Morning all

I thought I would put my thoughts up on the above just in case anyone was in the market for a camera.

The kit itself costs £110 but isn't too clear that I needed a motorbike kit, as such I ended up purchasing the limpet suckers separately. Waste of ten pounds but I won't quibble.

http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/dogcam-bullet-hd-wide...

Customer service was good prior to purchase but then it usually always is but the online live chat helped me as the site isn't too clear.

Postage was very quick. I ordered 3pm Thursday and attempted delivery was made at 10am the next day - RM Tracked.

There is lots in the tiny box it comes in. The camera with USB cable. 2 Different backs, 1 being waterproof to 10m. Lots of sticky mounts although I can't see where these will be useful as you only get one plastic camera holder. The limpet suckers if you buy the correct kit. A head strap, a crap load of velcro, a 4gb card and a sticker.

Its easy enough to use and comes charged. Press once to turn on and start. Once to turn off and stop. Instructions are clear and are NOT in engrish which is nice.

The wide version has a 135o field of vision. The fish eye effect is noticeable from this but I can't say it will bother me.

The camera itself is tiny and very light. It wouldn't be noticeable strapped to a helmet.

Here is a test video of my pussy in HD.

http://youtu.be/HnrKVX4b3fk?hd=1

I'll test it out on the bike once the caliper is reattached. Any questions fire away.

Cool, I ordered a Drift HD yesterday. Looking forward to having a play when it arrives (hopefully it will bring some sunny weather with it!)

Another contender! I'm having enough of a problem choosing between the Drift HD and GoPro.. and now this! At that price it's very good VFM. How long does the battery last and can you plug external power and mic in?

The video looks good - nice pussy laugh

I chose the Drift because of its sleeker profile and the ability to rotate the lens.

The GoPro mounted to a helmet just looks silly.

Problem I have with the Dogcam, lack of on the go power source, if I plug into car it seems to charge but not record .. so journeys are limited if I wan to use it all day ..

If im out on the bike all day then I have to be careful where I use it ..

Not sure on the battery life as the missus put it in her handbag so we have a recording of the inside of that for an hour. I will let you know.

You cannot plug in an external mic unfortunatley.

Picture of the camera mounted

I am going to tie some fishing wire to the camera as a just incase but I can lift the helmet up by the camera no problems. I am not sure how that would relate to in force terms but it seems sturdy enough.

I am uploading a video now as I had to pick up the commuter scooter this morning. I'll pop it up in a bit. I am very impressed with the quality and field of vision though.

This^^^^ Go-Pro (I have an old SD Hero) is a bloody awful size and shape for helmet mounting.
also the lack of screen makes it a pain in the arse to line a shot up.

The Drift HD will be my next purchase.

Rightio

Here is 4 dull minutes of me sitting on a scooter following some cars.

Not very exciting but you can see the quality.

Make sure you watch it in HD and turn down the sound.

Edit to add: why do people put music on and ruin an otherwise good video? what is wrong with hearing/listening to the engine?

Looks good for £110. Seems dogcam have come on a bit, I had one of their bullet cam set ups a couple of years ago and it really was st. Always found the company themselves good to deal with those and they are happy to try and discount stuff for you if you ask.

Because you get a lot of windnoise, I could tweak the audio but I just threw it together for a first go type thing.

I prefer to hear the motorbike too!

Has it not got a remote mic?
