PCCBs definitely, suspension and transmission can be decided in due course but can't find discussions on X51?!

So, has anyone specced the X51 pack on a 991 yet or more relevantly, driven one? Is an awesome upgrade on my 997 but the 991 configuration comes in at many kilopounds... wondering if it's similar in power delivery to 997 and what else it brings beyond; heads, exhaust, rev limit rise, etc...

Currently 5'500 - 7'500 rpm it goes some, as fast as a 7.2 GT3 easily, and seems to get better mpg than other C2S's (completely driving style subjective I know, but...)

Anyone tried one?

X51 includes PSE and Sport Chrono Plus so it's 'only' about £6500 for 30hp extra.

I haven't been able to find any power or torque comparisons.

Maybe search for X52 instead. I've seen one car with it.

Are you talking about the 991 with the powerkit or your current 997?

If it's the latter, then I can't understand why it would be quicker? For reference the 997.2 GT3 has 54bhp more than a 2005 C2S X51 (381 vs 435), more torque (306lb/ft vs 317lb/ft) and is an not insubstantial 50+ kg lighter! redface

Yeah I was surprised about that too...

I agree 997.1 c2s X51 is heavier, but a lot less than 50kg if the 997.2 GT3's running steels and has a cage. Also, I'd not say it's faster per se, but definitely as quick due to being geared shorter. Up to a point (80 mph ish) it's very even actually and can go either way.

Admittedly round a track at speed, the extra oomph will show a clean set of tailpipes...

C2S bashing aside, my main question is what the powerkit is like on the 991? Anyone tried it?

And X52, that returns a load more results, thanks! Why is it X51 on the car configurator? Mixing of 991 and 997 in the list perhaps...

Some peeps have specced the x51 kit on their 2013 991 builds. Wait another 3 months and we should know how good it is. Lack of early information from Porsche regarding torque improvements seems to suggest this won't be as good as the 997 kit.

The 997S.2 kit wasn't that good either. I've assembled the graph below from all the available data I can find for power and torque for both standard 997S.2 and X-51 997S.2. Definitely not worth over £10000.....

Hmmmm... The difference between my GTS (X51 standard) and the previous 997.2 with PSE (so no placebo effect) was really noticeable.

Like the chart! Here's one for the 997.1, seems a more reasonable choice for a 7.1 car than a 7.2. Hence the 991.1 question...

- A - Power (kW)
- B - Engine Speed (RPM)
- C - Torque (Nm/ftlb.)
- D - Standard C2s engine
- E - C2s engine with X51 Upgrade (381 HP at 7,200 RPM)

looks like Porsche was definitely holding back the C2S engine compared to the X51. The clue being relatively similar torque profiles. I think in real world driving, the difference wouldn't be noticed but wind it up and it's a whole new ballgame.

The scales on this graph artificially accentuate the differences - the power and torque scales don't start at zero, so the differences look like a lot bigger percentage than they really are.

If I get some time over the next couple of days, I'll do a graph like the one I did for the 997S.2 with the scales reading from 0. That way you'll get a proper feel for the real differences between the standard and X-51 packages.
