Hi all,

I've been shopping around today for insurance and the best quote is underwritten by Equity Red Star (brokered by Classic Car Line). I've heard of Equity Red Star before and a quick Google reveals some pretty appalling reviews, particularly with regard to their customer service.

Has anyone had any first hand experience with them and whether any of this might be founded?

Thanks,

Neil

I use RH Specialist Insurance (Equity RedStar) for my classic car cover. Not only are they polite and knowledgable, they were also the cheapest!

I had my Scenic insured wih Red Star through Adrian Flux, no complaints when making a claim against another party although that was done by a 3rd party accident claims firm.

Cheap insurance?

Who cares about poor customer service if the insurance is cheap.

I am not joking, will be giving them a call.

To be fair though who goes to write a review of their insurance after having a good experiance, we expect a good service therefore aren't surprised when we get one so don't feel the need to write about it. Hence the no naming and shaming rules here as there is always two sides to a story.

This "cheap" insurance company won't insure me, won't even give me a price. Just a flat no.

My fleet policy is with Equity Red Star - albeit through Towergate.

They are slow admin wise (certificates / MID inclusions etc.) but they were over £600 cheaper than the nearest competitor...
