Detective Work - who is behind Apple Home Improvements

I found it curious that Apple Home Improvements www.applehomeimprovements.co.uk have no company number or Ltd company status on their website. A legal requirement I believe, if a company is limited. Perhaps they are not limited...

Most companies with a trade mark and 8 showrooms are these days limited, for the sake of the liability offered.

A whois check indicates the legal owner of their domain name is "Fairweather Web" - indicating their web designer may be the only front this company has.

They have just recently opened a new showroom in the High Street,Newport,Isle of Wight, opened by Andy Downes operations manager for Apple, and I believe they have another one in Portsmouth

They claim to have a 98% customer satisfaction level, but something feels amiss, as (I could be going blind, but) I could find no information on their website whatsoever to support this claim. If true, it would be something to be proud of. If not true, the 98% satisfaction claim could be construed as misleading.

Maybe trading as an unincorporated partnership?

Whilst there are limited liability benefits to being a limited company, this does offer more privacy and is better if they've had issues in the past in that respect.

My employer employs us through a limited service company, but all trade is through an unincorporated partnership. This is a firm with 150 employees and 2 offices, so perhaps not that uncommon.

Hmmm.
The product lines differ, but only slightly (roofing, solar, grass, driveways etc). That doesn't necessarily mean anything.

The NE showroom is missing from the Southern website, which again doesn't necessarily mean anything, for sure. You'd have thought the northern showroom would be included on the southern website, if one and the same. Cant really guestimate further than that.

Again, well found. How did you find out that company name is associated with the website mentioned in the OP? It certainly seems that way...

They still dont publicise their company status or company number on their website...
That would be the registered address of their Accountants.
