I have a straight through pipe on my 993 c2s which is brilliant for sound but not so much for MOT and emission purposes. I do not want to put the original cat back because it is way too quiet.

I have contacted powerspeed in Kent and they do:

200 cell cats => £495 + vat.
100 cell cats => £600 + vat.

We need to be at least 4 to be able to get this excellent deal.

Please post here if interested. They will call me back this afternoon to confirm conditions.

ps: anyone with experience of 100 cell or 200 cell cats on 993 please feel free to contribute...

I'm running 100 cell as they allow the turbos to spool up quicker, no MOT issues.
Don't know if the two hundreds make much difference on NA cars unless there are a load of other complimentary mods to go with them smile

Bear in mind I am coming from a 'sans-cat' set-up.

My concern is more in terms of sound and MOT.

I want to keep the sound as close as possible to my no-cat set-up.

Could not care less about performance as long as I do not lose much...

In fact I spoke to these guys again. If we are 4x in total to have sport cats fitted, the deal is:

£495 ALL IN (VAT + fitting) for 200 cell cats (instead of £600).
Some companies charge £1200 to do a similar job...

This really is an amazing deal for those who want their 993 to sound a lot 'fruitier'...

They say 100 cell cats are too 'border line' MOT wise...

I am going to have mine done on Nov 17th whatever happens.

I did the same when I was running my 993 turbo. 100cel cats which I got from Gert Carnewall. Excellent rumble, did make car sound alive, as a turbo should have sounded from the factory!

JC and 911T - did you have to swap those 100cell cats out at MOT time then?

I'm using my phone and reading this and Internet speed is a problem.. I'm miles away from Kent (worcestershire) but might be well up for this with the 200 cell. Where are they east or west side of Kent ?
Just to confirm. The price taken off and refitted is £495.00?
Also, do they accept visa.? Long way to go with cash.

495 is all in if we are 4. Inluding taking exhaust off, fitting 200 cell cat... They said 200 cell cat and 100 cell have roughly the same sound. They are in ashford which means far from london.

No, passed mot no probs each year (renewed last week). Mine is a Milltek exhaust and 100 cell cats, several years old now. The cats were a grand or 1200 if I remember correctly so the above sounds like great value.

Have you actually had an MOT emissions test done with the decay pipe? I had a 993 a few years ago with one and it passed fine. That's partly what motivated me to have my 993 done last year, passed MOT fine in August.

Being not the brightest, is this price for a new cat, or converting the existing to either a 100 or 200 cell?
I'm guessing the later

Worth pointing out that not all cats are the same. The moniker 100 cell or 200 cell does not tell you whether the deal is relatively good (to other brands) or not FWIW

guess so...

Nonetheless, I have tears coming to my eyes when standing behind the car at idle... fumes coming out of the exhausts are a bit err.. rich!

Compare the above company with H&S for example... Unless proven otherwise, one charges 150% more than the other. It would have to be AMAZING cats to justify the difference... I have never used the above company but they have a good feedback, are renowned in motorsport circles.

For the money, they is little downside as far as I am concerned. So I will give them a try regardless if people want to join the group deal or not.

Downside could be cheap cats which disintegrate prematurely so you could end up paying twice or three times to get the same quality - this is only conjecture but probably worth asking what brand and model of cat your cheap deal is using ?

This would be a good question to ask. Never realised there were any difference.
