Hi,

As per thread title, does anyone have any good recommendations for tattoo artists in Aberdeen? I see there are a few in the city (Richards, Rapport, Draconian etc.) and there are a couple of good websites showcasing their work, but I'd like to have personal experience recommendations if possible.

I'm just looking to get a few words of script, in black, nothing too big as there's a guy in Glasgow I'll go to for larger work.

Thanks in advance.

Dare i say it, but if it is just words in script and is quite simple then I would be hard pushed to recommend one tattooist over another. They should all do a very good job on something simple.
I can't comment on any specific artists in Aberdeen as I had one tattoo done in NZ and only a NZ / Maori tattoo artist could do it and another in Aberdeen but by a kiwi friend here for a month. Not much help i know but just my 2p worth.

Thanks for the replies chaps. Saw a piece by Rapport that looked really good. Phoned up and I'm going to drop in this week to see the place and the main guy, no pressure to get anything done.

I get the point regarding the simplicity and anyone 'should' be capable, but I've seen some shocking work before and I'd prefer not to take the chance when its going to be part of me forever until I die! smile

Got my 1st and only so far at Rebel Ink. Great laid back place and the guy did a spot on job with mine. Its the Metallica ninja star on my right calf. Very polite artist (Lee iirc) and very friendly. Definetly going there for my next one smile

I'd never go anywhere other than Draconian. In fact, I'm going there tomorrow!

Stix is also a muscle car freak with a cool Mustang GT.

Another vote for Stix, did a cracking cover up two years ago for me. Would probably have more work from him if I lived closer.

I've not called to check, but a friend said I won't get a weekend or late evening appointment until well into next year. Praise indeed, that he's so popular! I'm heading into Rapport this week to scope it out, will report back afterwards.

Thanks for the replies so far, I imagined I'd be shot down in flames for "staining your body with that muck"! wink

Rapport are utter crap.

I know this as i have a tattoo done by them and my 6 year old could have done better, bit late once the work is done so tread very careful.

Richard’s is an utter pain in the @rse as you have to be there from 6am onwards and que but they will do a great job for you, their attitude stinks but who cares if they do a good job.

Ach, damn! I was hoping for good things too! Their site looks like its got some great work, but I suppose that's easy enough to mock up. What was wrong with yours if you don't mind me asking?

Not taking appointments I suppose is a traditional way to operate, but it makes me think a place wouldn't get much return custom for larger work. Draconian have definitely said they're not free until next year. I was wanting this little piece done in time for a significant anniversary, but it may just have to wait frown

I had some "simple" text on my wrist and it looks like my 6 year old has drawn it.

Thanks for all the comments chaps.

I went to Rebel Ink on George Street yesterday and I'm really happy with the result :-) The guys were all really friendly and knowledgeable and their work is fantastic. As mentioned above, Draconian seems to have the best reputation of all the studios in the city, but I'd highly recommend the guys at Rebel Ink and will probably return for some more work next year :-)
