Hi Guys
I am thinking of looking for a second hand Omega Seamaster, possibly the Planet Ocean.

There is loads available, in all sorts of conditions. I would like a really clean example with all the warranty cards and paperwork. I am thinking of spending 1-1.5k.

My concern is that I have very small wrists, 6.5-7 inches.

Most of the Omegas for sale seem very large but they do some models in what they term 'mid-size'.

Does anyone have any experience of having a small wrist and wearing a Seamaster?

Also I guess they are very sought after and get good reviews??

Many thanks

Tyy

The PO comes in 42mm and 45mm. There is however a, er, ladies version at 37.5mm. Whether the proportions will work at that size, only you can say.

I know the 42mm Seamaster is just that bit too big for my 6.5" wrist, but may be OK on a 7"?
Ooops, the Seamaster is 41mm, not 42mm.

The classic Seamaster Pro (basically the original Brosnan Bond watch and its later models) is 41mm but wears quite small I think. It sits flat on the wrist which helps too.

You can also get it in a mid-size (36mm) though I think it is just too small. A mate had one as he had twigs for wrists. His looked ridiculous on me though my 41mm Seamaster did look big on him.

Mine are closer to 6.5 as well....

Sounds like I need to call at a jeweler and see how they look on the wrist.

Getting the size right is not something I want to get wrong

Cheers

My wrist is 8", my full size Planet Ocean looks about right to me.

It ia big heavy watch (display back on mine) and takes a while to get used to it though.

You really need to pop in and try them on first but I suspect the 42 will suit you better and perhaps why they make it in the first place.

I've been hunting around for a new Omega [or Breitling] ..and have tried on a few , I too have smallish wrists at around 6.75 inches.

the new 42mm PO is a lovely watch - diameter is OK for small wrists like mine but it IS rather heavy IMO ... felt a bit too heavy for me on a metal strap.

[same applies for Breitling chronomats - lovely watches but very heavy with the hi-quality steel bracelets, especially the larger diameter ones [44mm?]]

Omega's that felt a lot better were the manual Moonwatch professional with the lightweight 'hesalite'[?] glass , and also the 300m seamaster with ceramic bezel - about 42mm but wears lighter than a PO.

Breitling superocean heritage 42mm is also quite light on a mesh strap - and is a nice watch too.

..think there must be a market for titanium watches for thin to normal sized guys smile

I have just seen a 2010 Seamaster Quartz 300m and it has a 41mm black dial.

How would this look on a small wrist??

I have a 41mm Omega seamaster GMT 2234.50 on a speedmaster bracelet, and it sits fine on my 6.5" wrist. Let me know if you'd like me to take a picture.

I find my watch very comfortable, and I don't think it looks too big. But every watch and wrist is different, so you should try your watch on before purchase.

Edit: just noticed that I haven't adjusted my GMT hand since BST ended! Whoops!

I came from a mid size Cartier, so it felt extremely different for a few days, but more than happy with the 42mm & I really like the weight. The salesman had the larger version on, which definitely was too big for my wrist. A couple of years back, I probably would have gone for the 37.5mm but that does look a tad too small now.
