Surprises there isn't a topic for this show

IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2731624/

This has had a massive build up on the circuit recently, with some fairly well known actors apparently appearing.

Anyway, I've only watched the first episode from last night and it was poor to say the least, to the point of it almost getting switched off, usually I just will leave something running.

....and discuss.

I wanted to love it as Tom Basden IMHO one of the best comedy writers around was involved.
Sadly I struggled through the first episode but gave up a couple of minutes into the 2nd.

Watched half of the first one and realized it wasn't a comedy Spartacus (in that it was neither funny nor laden with blood/action/tits/ass) so switched off.

Marcus is very much based on Will from "The InBetweeners" - character, mannerisms and vocal intonation are the same. lazy writing/acting.

My sentiments exactly.

But still thought it was adequate to watch.....

Awful, awful, awful. Didnt't get to the first break before I had to switch off, delete it, and cancel it on the TiVo.

Come back Frankie Howard.

Never heard of it...stick it away on ITV2, no wonder.
Speaks volumes for the faith ITV have in it. biggrin

I saw two episodes of it last night. Thought it was alright, nothing ground breaking but some cheap laughs. Agree on the Will from inbetweeners comparison though.

E2 was better (or was the beer making it better). It lives on the planner for now, purely as there isn't much going on at the minute, so may as well pass the time with it.

It's essentially Inbetweeners B.C. isn't it?

Watched both episodes back to back on ITV player and only stuck with it as its got the hot one from the Inbetweeners film in it - and now she's a red head. Fwoooar.

I liked it boxedin
OK, it was slow to start and some of the writing needed a tidy up. Plus if they dropped the pointless swearing then it could have been shown earlier and on ITV1 rather than the obscure ITV2.

Although... I give it one series until it runs out of steam.

Maybe I would have spotted it, but cannot get Inbetweeners similarity away from the main one, the tall fuzzy haired lad is only a slightly brighter version of is Trollied character, and the other one is doing an impression of a stupid person from a 60s sitcom.
I can see why a new sitcom was place on one of the invisible channels now, it is utter st. And it will no doubt run for 87 series (not like Chelmsford 123), just like Packet of Lager and Two Crisps, or whatever that other piece of st ITV dregfest was called. Why does ITV make such wk sitcoms?

A friend sold it to me as 'the inbetweeners in ancient Rome'
Which I feel is a fair description.

That Rosenthal bloke was on The Wright Stuff and he was actually really funny!

In fact he was more like the dorky one in The Inbetweeners.
