Hi all,

Sorry for asking such a big question as a first post but this is really bothering me and would like to know where I stand.

Bit of background. Bought a 59 plate petrol Honda Accord in October 2012 with 17k on the clock, these are quite hard to find due to the petrol to diesel ratio so ended up buying from a Honda garage 100miles away which was pretty painless to be honest and has been fine since then. When buying I was told that it was on variable servicing which is common on modern cars so didn't think much of it and with the mileage being so low didn't expect there to be much. The car had just come off a HP deal and just over 3years old but came with a full year Honda warranty etc.

Fast forward to now and my car went in to my local Honda dealer for the front speakers to be changed under warranty and I enquired about the variable servicing as I was expecting something to come up by now. They checked and it wasn't on variable and upon looking at the history the service it has had was filled in as an annual service just before I bought it which is the third year service meaning it wasn't serviced in the first two years. Granted the car didn't cover much mileage but that's beside the point, it hasn't got a full service history so the value will be reflected.

I feel pretty stupid for not picking this up earlier and intend on contacting the dealer but just wanted to get some advice first please?

Thanks

Check the exact wording on their approved used programme. What promises does it exactly make regarding history?

All I can find is:

Complimentary 7-day drive-away insurance
Our wide range of financial solutions
The 12 month Honda Happiness guarantee
Our rigorous car checking and preparation
Assured vehicle history & mileage certifications
Our 30-day vehicle exchange policy

But what my local dealer said was that the extended Honda warranty would only be valid for cars with full service history (luckily they carried on with the speakers as it wasn't relevant).

with all due respect you need to speak to the dealer, no one here can give a definitive answer, has a stamp not been missed?
