I am about to place an order for Vantage S and i want a 'light' coloured interior rather than the usual black. Cream Truffle looks great in the showroom but has anybody lived with it in the real world? the car will be used regularly but i'm quite happy to pamper it to keep it clean. Grateful for any advice

Before I got mine, I thought exactly the same thing. One of the showrooms I checked out, showed me a customers car which was in for a service. The amount of colour transfer from clothes was huge, including blue jeans. Put me off cream truffle.

I would suggest go for sandstorm. Took me a while to find one, but glad I did, and it's much easier to live with, no colour transfer and is plenty light enough without seeming too light. Use my as a DD and no issues to date. Hope that helps

On another note, I was told that the S wasn't available from the factory in any other interior colour other than black.

I've lived with cream truffle for a few years and never suffered with dye transfer and I wear jeans 90% of the time. I originally intended to clean it on a regular basis but as with all good intentions..... anyways I have been surprised with how well it has stood the test of time. It obviously shows up every dirty mark especially from passengers catching their feet on the lower door panels and leaving smudges but it just a quick wipe to get rid.

+1
Invest in a decent conditioner/cleaner (e.g Gliptone) and you'll have no problems. More importantly, it will prevent ANOTHER suicide black interior car out on the market nono

I love cream interior. Sand storm tends to not wear too well. Simple solution is, when you get it, apply a couple of coats of gtechniq leather sealant (L1) and your good to go. Every now and then, just give it a wipe over with some zaino z-9 on a cloth. No need for conditioners.
Make sure you get it detailed and apply a good layer of protection when you get it too. Just to give it the best start in life.

Mines an 04 DB9 with cream truffle. Slight wear on the drivers seat but no dye transfer. A friend of mine normally had a black interior but changed to cream on his next virage. Tim

I have cream truffle on my black volante.
One thing ,do not have it on the dash as it reflects in the windscreen.
No problems with denim stains as I always wear my red trousers driving the Aston.

Cream truffle on my (ahem, fire red redface) 09 Volante, no trouble at all with colour transfer. Still looks fabulous. (And almost always driven in blue jeans.)

It's only the 'cheap' branded jeans that cause any problem smile

Cream truffle (with arctic blue) on my 07, still looks as good as new but I wouldn't recommend it on the steering wheel, stick to a black one.

Not cream truffle but I had an f-car with crema hide (so very similar). It was fine.

Take care how you get in and out as the only dye transfer I had was on the bolsters, but it was easily removed.

Personally I think darker colours suit Aston interiors very well...

Hi Francis - quick question, why is it that sandstorm doesnt tend to wear as well? just curious as mine seems great.

From my experience of all the different colour interiors I've seen, sand storm IMO tends to not age as well as other colours. I've seen a few examples of it fading and just not looking very nice. Cream doesn't suffer from this, but you will notice the creases more. You could always get them airbrushed anyway, if they do crease.

Now that I'm in love with my car again, I will hit you up for some of that magic of yours when the sun decides to come out, and revive/prolong the colour. smile

I have ordered a new V8V and chose a new color called Winter Wheat which is lighter than sandstorm but darker than cream truffle. It has a somewhat yellowish cast to it and reminds me of the Bentley Magnolia color which is one of my all time favorite colors. I too have burned out on all the black interiors.

Cream Truffle is a fantastic colour to lighten the interior and with the additional stitching you get with the 'S' looks even better. The only care I do with mine is after every few drives I give it a wipe over with a damp microfibre cloth, but as mine is a roadster it does get dirty quickly. The important thing is don't let any dirt get ingrained into the leather.

The most important thing I would recommend is to get the leather sections nearest the windscreen done in black. I didn't with mine and the light relection on the windscreen can be very bad, both in strong sunlight and also sometimes from streelights at night. I am planning to get this changed soon.

Here are a couple of pics if you haven't seen an 'S' with the interior.

What exterior colour are you going for ?

Very nice, nomisc. Is that Magma?

It would be very easy to re-trim the upper environment in black Alcantara to cut down on glare.
