(997 & 996) 911 Bicycle Roof Bars??

Hi Folks,

I am considering purchasing a 911, either a 997 C2S or a 996 C4S as a daily, but I require to carry Mountainbikes on it???

Has anyone got a bikerack for theirs? I currently have a Thule Aero bar setup that I used on my E92 BMW, but I cannopt find anything relating to being able to use these on the 911?

Anyone got any info or pictures of their 911 with bikes on it? - Any help much apprecaited!

I have a 996 C4S and have Thule aero bars - no photo's I'm afraid, but do know that you have two options.

You either go for the official Porsche bars - Porsche Transport System (PTS) or you can get a mix and match set of different Thule ones for half the price.

Davek posted up some links to his system and I bought the same set up too - only used once, but works a treat.

Should do - it won't be as neat/perfect as the PTS, but is fully secure and functional.

Why do you say that? Is the PTS especially sleek?

I was considering buying the Thule setup with the WingBar Edge bars. They look pretty good.

Seek out some Porsche bars if you can, there's a couple of sets on ebay atm, they're neater than the mix'n'match Thule combo.

Are the bars the same for 996 & 997? I assume you have sold these now? Anyone else have some for sale?

Exactly the same for 996 and 997, yes.
The downside with the Thule solution is you end up with different heights... I had the Porsche solution and it is good. (Sold them already I'm afraid)
