The standard sensors are a bog standard 433MHz Beru item as fitted to BMW, Merc, Porsche, Audi, and others....
You don't have to pay AM prices...
Genuine items can be found for less than £70 quid
That's good to know. Could do with that in the sticky, maybe with part numbers and if there is a programming/learn procedure. You don't have to pay AM prices...

Still, whoever won that auction got four for fifty notes.

Andy, which one from that link? Will then put it in the FAQ's sticky as would be useful for people to know. Link suggests you don't need to programme them with AM specific tools, just replace them.http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/tpms/huf_beru_tpm...
Errrr the one that's £66 quid

Gentlemen,
I suppose that Lunablack refers to the new TPMS that replaced the "old" SmarTire system before 2010.
The wheel sensor of the SmarTire system can only be replaced when it "dies" (replacement of batteries is reportedly impossible), at an excessive price, without including working hour costs for re-coding the whole system (appropriate tool required).
Please refer to "Tyre valves" thread if you opt to replace worn-up valves only, when replacing tyres.

Aston Martin Part Number 1R12-36-10357 refers to the Smartire sensor.
Has anybody successfully replaced the Smartire sensor with a Huf/Beru unit? If so, which one?

Having just reprogrammed my 2008 Aston Martin Vantage Smartire TPMS system to accept Autel sensors I thought I'd start a separate post to let everyone know that this is a simple process as long as you have the Autel TS508 hand held programming device and Autel MX sensors. These must be bought from a bonafide distributor such as Euro Car Parts as there are an awful lot of counterfeit ones on eBay etc. The TS508 is expensive tool at £479.99 and at the moment comes with four metal valve sensors and four rubber ones.
However for the price of a drink I'm happy to program your Autel MX sensors.
The procedure is very simple and straightforward as long as you have the serial number off your old Smartire Sensors, which can be read off the old sensors once they have been removed from the wheel.
If I can help please send me a PM.

Having taken advantage of Anthony's extremely kind offer, I can report back that he's done a cracking job on my MX sensors. All programmed with the same codes as the original Smartire ones and now just awaiting the box of Autels back (hopefully the courier collected today !). Had a really pleasant chat with him as well.
What was rocket science in my mind has turned into a very simple fix.
In terms of where to get them, GSF are a bit vague on them, Eurocarparts are quite expensive unless you have a trade account, however, If you phone your local motor factor and ask if they have an account with Autel, you might be able to wangle a discount. £32 incl VAT is about the going rate.
Decided to get my very good diamond cut Sports Pack wheels refurbed whilst they were apart. Going with same colour all over, as I just know that once the lacquered bits start to go a bit milky I'd never get over it.

I got mines from TPMS24 in Germany.
In 2019, together with VernierMike we were the ones who found out that replacing Smartire with Autel was feasible. Glad to see BabyDriver taking on the torch, great job!
