I am currently in Italy and have been given a Fiat Freemont hire car which is the same as a Dodge Journey.

How the help do you turn the interior lights off.
I have pushed all the lights , they click but stay on.
All the doors are closed correctly.
There must be a master switch somewhere.

The only way of avoiding a flat battery is pulling the fuse.

From the web.

Since delivery, the only tiny issue I am having is that there is no seperate interior lighting switch. It is combigned with the dimming controller. Each seat has its own individual reading light. These reading lights are their own switch. So to turn all the interior lights on, you have to play with the dimmer controller. I am sure I will adjust and get use to it, but it is annoying to be driving at night and having to play with the dimmer controller just to turn on/off the interior lights.

Hope that helps

That. ^^^^

Make sure the dash light dimmer switch hasn't been clicked up past its maximum brightness to turn the interior lights on.

It works!
Put the fuse back in with the dimmer right down and the lights are off.
If I even move the dimmer off minimum, on they come.
Tis a silly idea.

Thanks for your help from sunny Gatteo A Mare.

Currently in Florida on hols. Have a Dodge Journey. Had the same issue with interior lights not turning off. Read this post. Turning dimmer switch down from maximum worked. Was considering returning the car to Orlando Airport so you have saved us a day and a journey. Thx very much.

I've had my Journey for eight years now (it's an '09) and for the first time tonight (on a 2400 mile road trip, of course), the dimmer thing happened to me. I guess I messed it up during the "daylight lights" sections of the highway at some point. SO glad I found this and fixed it. Just paid another $500 for a battery a month ago and didn't need to do that again just yet...

I love my car, though. :-)

Bought a used one a year-and-a-half ago and this caught me out on the very first drive in it - going along with the courtesy lights stuck on and thinking I'd just bought a pup with an electrical fault!!

Glad to make acquaintance with a fellow owner. Tell me - how many sets of front discs and pads have you gone through in 8 years...?!
