Hi all, the GF is looking at an A1 sport with the 1.4 Cylinder on demand engine to replace her Mini Cooper. Dealer has two coming into stock, one in flat white, the other in metallic. Shockingly for an Audi buyer(every car on the forecourt & showroom was silver/grey/white or black), she want's a colour, preferably blue.

Dealer is quoting 10 - 12 weeks delivery, later dropping in maybe March. Get the feeling this is to direct us into one of the two cars he has coming in which are otherwise in the perfect spec. This view was aided by the Q3 end doc sitting on his desk...

Does anyone on here have an idea what delivery times are like at the moment? I'm not really a VAG person, but have heard of delays lasting several months, especially with new engine types over the past few years.

Thanks in advance.

10-12 weeks sounds quick, is that for a car that's already queued for build?

For a proper factory order you are normally looking at months, I'd probably be buying now for the 14-plate...

Mark.

I'd say 10-12 weeks is pretty good. I think my A6 was over that and it didn't really have many extras to fix.

I understand at one point the A3 had a 6-9 month wait and the black editions were of a similar nature.

Thanks folks. Think March is looking more likely then, which may well mean the A1 is out unless we can track down a delivery in a colour she likes.
