The scripts/language throughout all 3 series is superb - it didn't make one bit of sense to me the first time round but I've watched all 3 series 2 or 3 times now and you always pick up on something new. Favourites include:
EB Farnam: "Be brief!"
Calamity Jane: "Be f
ked!"
Tom Nuttall: "My bicycle masters boardwalk and quagmire with aplomb. Those that doubt me... suck c
k by choice"
EB Farnam: "Allow me a moment's silence Mr Hearst, sir, I'm having a digestive crisis and must focus on repressing it's expression"

An astonishingly good series, probably in my top 5, that is often overlooked.
Imo it finished too soon, never thought it felt weak, would loved to have seen where the story went.
Perhaps its best feature is that it requires something from a viewer. If you half watch it while inter-webbing then you're going to miss a lot.
Needs attention and a certain amount of thought (a bit like s1 of The Wire in that respect) and is all the more enjoyable for it!

One of my favourite series of all time, not exactly accessible though, some of the dialog completely passed me without the slightest hint of my comprehension.
Criminal to leave it on such a cliff-hanger, the HBO went out of their way to ensure it could never be revived - something to do with some bigwig at HBO's Son being the main driving force behind Entourage which replaced it - still if anything I preferred Entourage.

king ace!A crime it was cancelled!
And the prose, yeah, this will require multiple viewings, and that shall not be a chore.

I've never seen it but I hear they are running the entire 3 series one episode a night starting early December on one of the sky channels. Anyone know any more.
Not heard that, more than likely Atlantic as it's a HBO thing? It's well, well worth watching, very gritty, hard to follow (they use period correct language) but gloriously filmed - it's also loosely based on real event and has real characters like Wild Bill Hicock, Calamity Jane & Wyatt Earp.
Excellent TV if you like it rough:
