sparkies not being electrocuted?

We had a new consumer box fitted recently and it occurred to me how do sparkies manage the incoming power without getting fried. They can't just switch it off like you do house side of the trip switch.
No doubt its easily done but I just wondered all the same.

They take out the main fuse next to the meter.

you as a consumer should call your supplier and ask them to refit a security seal on the fuse once all the work is finished and signed off

Some newer installations have an isolator fitted after the meter



Otherwise they would just snip the fuse seal and remove.

Technically the electric company should be called to isolate and then re seal but nunless you have money to burn this isn't going to happen. If you ask any spark about the missing seal after he has done a consumer unit change he will reply with what seal?
