Looking to buy Eunos MAZDASPEED. Is there a definitive list to help confirm if a car is genuine?

Seen lots of questionable cars advertised, with mazdaspeed parts and badges.

Any help much appreciated.

Good luck and post on here if you get one !

No I believe Eunos, Miata and MX5 had MAZDASPEED up grades. Only looking for an Eunos though.

I used to own a real mazdaspeed edition, if it is not a North American or japan spec car, it is not genuine. The mazdaspeed edition cars are the only cars that mazdaspeed equipped with mazdaspeed parts from the factory, meaning all other cars are not a "mazdaspeed edition" (in a genuine sense), they are a mazdaspeed modified car.

So if your looking for a real MAZDASPEED Eunos, your out of luck. If your looking for Mazdaspeed parts only... Why? There are better parts out there.

As for parts, you can identify a mazdaspeed motor by the design. The mazdaspeed motor has different a different head, the cam sensor is in front and mounts on the cam cover, it also has red valve covers from the factory. The ECU is not compatible with other mx5s and is a different part. The mazdaspeed editions also have a butterfly brace from the factory.

In the windbreaker there are speakers as well. It comes with 17 inch forged aluminum Hart Racing brand wheels. The 2004 and 2005 years have different wheels, but they are the same size/brand. The mazdaspeed edition has 3 (maybe 4) interior options, for 2004 it had Black leather with red stitching, or red/black cloth seats. The interior should be red/black as well. If you want some pictures I can upload some. For a 2005 model it has the previous 2 options but it also comes available with a blue/black option (i am not sure if black leather with blue stitching was an option or not). There is also a mazdaspeed cover on the center rear view miror.

The mazdaspeed cars come in titanium grey, lava red or an orange (I dont remember the color for the orange, it is only available for 2005). They come factory with a mazdaspeed front air dam, and as far as I know they did not come with the mx5 ground effects/side skirts that mazda makes.
The headlights are specific to a mazdaspeed and problably the least known difference (I discovered this when mine cracked) the difference is the mazdaspeed lights are smoked (darker reflectors). They also had a mazdaspeed exhaust tip.

Ive probly left some stuff out here, but ive included a lot of the stuff that is specific to the mazdaspeed edition. If youve got more questions just post

Thanks dblack1

I'm after a mk1 Eunos na.

My view is there maybe better after market parts available, but it is always less expensive to buy a car already loaded, hence the interest in mazdaspeed and the time, effort and development that they would have put into these specific up grades.

IMO.

The only reason to go after a genuine MazdaSpeed car is because you want the cachet of owning a genuine one, financially it makes no sense, there are loads of well sorted mx5/eunos out there (and I wouldn't be looking specifically for a eunos either, I see no benefits in the real world between a good UK or Jap spec car provided the spec list suits you, except the UK car will be cheaper to insure) with everything you would want to put on them selling for peanuts, a point that is proven again and again by the fact often they get bought to break or the owner breaks them as they are worth more in bits rather than sell as a whole car.

I'd like a MazdaSpeed Miata Nb but it's not because of the capability of the car it's because it would be a rarity over here.
