Me: "I'm so looking forward to Christmas dinner, sharing the table with a plump old bird whose gobbling days are over"
DW: "But we're having beef this year"
Me: "Yes I know"

But DW refuses to play along. AIBU to expect her to be the butt of my puerile jokes?
