Electric garage doors - essati?
Discussion
Anyone used a company called essati for electric garage doors?
Very tempted to replace a garage door with an electric one and they came out on google and are really good value?
Or is there any company that people would recommend for electric garage doors?
There is not much left in the slush fund at the moment (bought a new place and the wife is using up all the spare cash decorating and other bits and pieces) so figure i need to get it in nice and early.
This company essati (and something in maidstone) reckon its 700 quid for a fitted electric garage door. On their website they have decent reviews but then it is their own website so would be great to hear from a PH'er if anyone has had any experience?

I've heard of them as I live in Kent and am planning to get some electric roller doors this year, they advertise in all the local papers with the £699 fitted deal. They used to be called seguro garage doors, and before that something else, Essex doors or something. The fact that they're constantly changing name doesn't fill me with much confidence. Also found a few reviews/complaints for their previous name, have a Google and see what you think. Sometimes the saying 'quality costs' is true, I don't see how they can supply and fit for approximately half the price of everybody else, shame really as it'd save me a decent amount.
Haven't had the time to get anybody round to quote yet. Hopefully in the next few weeks. Somebody from Kent mention garage door associates based in Medway a few days ago and seemed happy with them. There's also a company in Canterbury that has been mentioned in the past, but I forget their name at the moment.
Found this reveiw: http://www.friday-ad.co.uk/business-page/uk/garage...
Maybe get what you pay for? Anyway they are coming round today so I'll see what they say

Yep that was me - GDA are very good - done a great job on my double width Hormann Sectional door. Sourced a good quote for the removal of the centre post, fitting the RSJ etc, and then did a great job of fitting.I think you get what you pay for....
I just had Essati fit my new door. Coloured, security version plus options with alarm/light/etc, very neatly fitted even though I had some slightly unusual requirements. Fitters polite and tidy, product looks great.
So highly recommended. I've had a little poke around and it's all good to me.

Unless you live near them you'd have to fit the door yourself but these people have been repeatedly recommended to me.

just had ours done by Essati!. Very professional and good clean job. Done in 4 hours and took the old door. The quality of the roller shutter door/mechanism is very good. A local company wanted 1200 for something similar.
We waited about 3 weeks from first visit until fitting. Cost a little more than the advertised 699 but depends on your door size/options etc. Went for the 10yr warranty at £90 extra.

I've know Seguro/roller doors/essati/and all the other companies name he has had over the years and i could show you some of the bad workmanship they have done over the years one shutter even fell down nearly hitting the customer. We waited about 3 weeks from first visit until fitting. Cost a little more than the advertised 699 but depends on your door size/options etc. Went for the 10yr warranty at £90 extra.
This is how he makes his money by selling you a 10 year warranty when his companies never last more than 3 to 4 years.
Also the extras like
Extra Remote because it only comes with 1
The manual overide handle
Removal of old garage door
All that knocks the price up to what a honest company would charge.
I know this is my first post but i came across it and thought i should my bit
I came across your comment while researching for a new Garage door and have registered to provide my experiences having no connection with the company other than that as customer. My friends in Brentwood had one fitted by Essati last month and based on that I ordered one from the Chelmsford branch. Mine was fitted on the 9th April. It's a double width one in Chocolate and cost around £1900.
So the following is based on my personal experience (and my friends). The workmanship was first class and the whole job was done in around four and a bit hours. Much tea was drunk ..lay in supplies!
They provided free of charge.
Two wireless remotes.
Manual winding handle in the event of a power cut.
They removed the old double fibreglass steel reinforced door which was a double and freekin big/ heavy. They tidied up after themselves but my wife did it again anyway.
The old Chamberlain electric mechanism and the old wooden frame as the new one is fitted direct to the side brick pillers on the inside face. Looks fantastic and a tad wider to get our cars in.
Inside is a light box with buttons to raise lower and an AEG alarm system, togerther with a laser light box and reflector so you can't lower the door if it's obstructed.
Guarantee. yes your right it's ten years but it's with the parent company 'P Kelly' not Essati. For £90 it's a punt your probably right about that. Otherwise I'd say you need to do more research talk to other owners. Well thats my experience of the Essex branch maybe your local branch is run completley differently but I have to doubt that.
Hope that helps,

would like to warn everyone out there who are thinking about getting a Essati roller garage door (www.essatigaragedoors.co.uk.) I saw their advert for £699 for a fully fitted basic roller door, I decided to upgrade to include the safety beam, 2 handsets, wall light, internal button for a total price of £984.
Beware for this price they DO NOT include any internal cover box or hood which is an EXTRA £120, which I found out about with an email and phone call. This was NOT pointed out by the surveyor at the time of the site survey, but it is mentioned in the T & Cs in very small print. I was very disappointed with this company.
The fitters will try and sell you Essati extended 10 year warranty at an extra cost of £90. Please beware that this is NOT an insurance plan, but their own plan. So anyone who is thinking about using this company, just beware regarding all of the extra £s. Apart from that the door works fine.

I had an Essati door fitted a couple of months ago after seeing the £699 offer. I had the presence of mind to get another couple of quotes from other companies to compare.Beware for this price they DO NOT include any internal cover box or hood which is an EXTRA £120, which I found out about with an email and phone call. The person who came out to measure talked me through the options and explained that the £699 deal only came with one "hold to run" remote and no cover etc. He gave me the prices and options for upgrades and decided what I would want. I negotiated with him and got a discount to get the deal as above but with the cover for under a grand.
this was then a "like for like" comparison with my other quotes and was competitive.
The job was done by two guys in half a day and they went the extra mile to make sure of a quality install.
The £699 deal is for the bare minimum and there are no other prices I could find that came close. If I needed to save £400 then I could have had this and from the outside the door would look no different. I got what I paid for, the same if I had gone for the 699 deal.
I recommend them, so much so we have had a second fitted to another property in another part of the country. Same good job.

Hi, I have ordered a garage door and the salesman mentioned a cover for the internal control box and it being chargeable (no mention of cost though). He then went on to say that as its in the garage is it really needed so I decided not to bother with any(more) extra expense. However, reading a few posts now, what does the control box look like without a cover if that's how it will be installed? I saw the demo unit in his van with the light and the two buttons to open/shut the door and it looks good but it didn't occur to me until later on to ask what will the control box look like on my installation. Anyone got a photo they can share of their installation? Thanks

The cover is not for the controls. It's for the roll. On a covered unit, the door rolls up into a box. Without, you see the roll.
Controls are the same but you will have 'hold to run' instead of the upgraded one which is 'one touch' up and down.
That has clarified it for me and why not having the cover isn't a problem Controls are the same but you will have 'hold to run' instead of the upgraded one which is 'one touch' up and down.

Thanks
