Must say I am impressed, value for money must be one of the best buys I have had so far. Mines a 2005 reg, just under the tax bracket so £280 all in.

drove to Blackpool to pick it up. 120 miles away..

Pressing sport button was an experience too. One thing pissing me off is the window goes down when I unlock. Is this the comfort setting? Proper annoying. Standard sound system is st to, so that's the first thing to be overhauled. Also going to change the exhaust tips to Eurostyle ones. And maybe a CSL diffuser. And thats it...

Few pictures.

also the mpg was very impressive. Very surprising and I was not holding back on the speed!

Does it open just a bit? It's to make the door easier to close.

Very nice thumbup

I've found both the BMW's (not M3's!) I've had to be good on fuel, In fact I think the 2.5 was better than the 1.8?!.
The window should drop about in inch when your unlock/open the door. If it drops all the way it needs looking at. It's easily fixed and fairly common though smile

Nope. The whole drivers side goes all the way down on door open once handle is pulled. On door shut goes back up!

Sounds like a fault. £5K to fix it I guess. How much was this car. hehe

Looks a nice one

Window problem is the window switch ime

Or you may be pressing the button twice very quickly in succession when unlocking

Lovely looking example!

Re: the window dropping, you will get a wealth of advice from M3 Cutters on faults like this, even though it isn't going to be exclusive to the M3. The wealth of knowledgeable posts on there is mind boggling!

Enjoy anyway, and yes, they are excellent value for money! smile

Beautiful spec, have a look in mwstewart's thread, perhaps it could help regarding speaker upgrades

Lovely colour combo and nice to see it on OEM 19s, the best wheel for them IMO

Re drivers door window, it's a setting that can be coded in or out, comfort entry I believe it's called

It only happens if you press the open button on the key twice, mine does it too and I'm having it coded out, irritates the st out of me also

Not sure what your experience is but mine is one of disappointment. Complete waste of time as the only thing it does is shorten the pedal travel. I don't see why cars have this function, if I want full throttle I want it at the bottom of the travel, not half way down. Do people struggle pushing the accelerator into the carpet these days!!!

I find car is so much nicer to drive with sport button left off.

If you press the unlock button twice it makes the window drop on a E46 coupe, are you sure you haven't pressed the unlock button more than once?

I'd have to disagree with this. As soon as mine is warmed up, the sport button is pressed.

I much prefer the alertness of the throttle with it on, but then I have short legs. smile

Does it affect the steering at all?

Not that I've noticed. It just make the car feel and sound sharper (the latter may be just in my imagination though).

No it doesn't, the only thing the sport button does is change the throttle response. It has no other effect whatsoever

Makes heel and toe a little easier, but I agree - it's essentially a gimmick.
