Planning to climb scafell pike in a couple of weeks time. Looking for somewhere to stay close by, preferably in or attached to pub. Just myself, so not looking for high end gastro pub, just somewhere with a bit of atmosphere, good beer, decent food, and room with ensuite ideally! Not bothered about price etc.

Is there an equivalent to Clachaig / Kingshouse in Glen Coe for those that know them?

Cheers

I stayed in burnthwaite farm b&b last year.

brilliant location from where to start your walk and it takes about 5 minutes to walk to the pub from there (and about 20 back)!

burnthwaite is a no frills type of place, but great location, great breakfast and a great host make it a superb choice..

Stayed at Low Wood Hall a couple of years back, nice little hotel in a tiny village with two fantastic pubs a few minutes walk away, one of which at least did fantastic food. http://www.lowwoodhall.co.uk/
