Work experience 14/15 year olds
Discussion
Miss Solo2 who is 14 now but will be 15 by the time next March comes around needs to find a work experience placement for two weeks.
She loves her science based stuff and is really wanting to find somewhere that will not be stuck behind a desk in an office or in a shop. She's applying to the local hospital to do a placement in their Lab but it is only for a week and only a few get to do it. Her chances of a placement are slim based on the number of applicants.
What else can she try, She'd love to be a forensic pathologist but I cannot see her being let lose doing that?![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
I'm stuck for ideas as it's not my area of speciality...

Humph. I had drafted a response based on personal experience, but then realised you're Surrey.
In which case, try GSK if not them then the Wellcome Trust may have something in your area. I wanted to do forensic pathology or archeology.
Either way anything even tangibly linked will help, I worked on a museum farm - traditional manual ploughing etc along with local archeological unit exposure for my work experience at that age. For 6th form I went on to work for Rhone Poulenc, chemical plant.
I then left after a levels to do a Gap Year to work on the Human Genome project. She'll work it out, work experience doesn't have to be what you eventually do.
I now work in Corporate Relocation!
