I have a Triumph Rocket 3 that is not idling. When it did this previously the fuel filter was changed and the fuel pump rinsed and back-washed to free any dirt that might be stuck in the veins. The bike ran well after that but was very heavy on fuel. A local mechanic that was a Triumph dealer cleaned sensors etc and the bike was OK for a long time. Now after a couple of months it starts the same old problem of not wanting to idle. Must I change the filter again and clean the pump and if so are the Triumph's susceptible to filters blocking up?

Not what again?
Is his Rocket always having trouble idling?
Or is it the fuel question.
Be more specific or stfu

OP I would suggest you are buying fuel that is possibly contaminated, maybe using a very quiet village petrol station or that at sometime in the past you have bought contaminated fuel which has left sediment in your tank which keeps choking the filter.
Perhaps getting the complete fuel system properly de-contaminated would cure your problem.

I don't think he wants another argument about which source of fuel is best. Its a tiring one.

You know without doubt it's bad fuel? A few guys have toyed with the idle settings to get some mixed results.

No, I know the answer to where it's best to buy fuel.
I was just making a suggestion as to what the problem could be.

I thought that was the point of a forum.

Could it something as simple as winding the idle up a little?

Throttle bodies balanced? Worth checking

Sounds like a recurring problem that you know the answer to though

Have you checked the IACV (air idle control valve) and associated hoses, it would usually be found in the air box, I'm not 100‰ sure of the location on an R3 but have had similar problems on other Triumphs, it could also be the TPS playing up, do you have a copy of tuneecu (free) and a KKL lead (£5 On ebay)? You can then check the idle speed and reset the tps if necessary.
