I suffer from some back problems (bruised coccyx two years ago which still gives me some jip occasionally, this then leads to me sitting funny to avoid pressure on it which then results in back ache in other places - f**King annoying - driving a long way daily and working in an office where I'm sat down all day does not help!) and have found that sports cars are generally more comfortable than 'normal' hatchback/saloons.

I test drove a Nissan 350Z this evening - beautiful car; great spec and colour, everything bang on.

But I struggled to get comfortable.

Ideally, I need to drive it for a few hours to make sure it will be ok. To this end, I thought about hiring one... but you can't hire a car from 7 years ago!

So... next best thing... hire a 370Z (assuming I can find one!). But how close are those seats to a 2007 350Z?!?

Not the same but very similar although I believe the 370 has lumbar support that the 350 doesnt, worth noting the front seats are different driver to passenger so you will really need to drive one

The driver and passenger seat are different?!? Well that's bizarre... and may explain why I was fine for the first 20 mins when the owner drove and I was a passenger, but was in discomfort during my drive!!

Yes more support for the driver , not the best pic but you can see the raised bit on the drivers seat that is absent from the passenger

The 370Z drivers seat does have Lumbar support, but it's quite a hard seat to sit on on general. You don't 'sink' into them like you would do on an M-car. I'm all honesty, as a 370Z owner, I would suggest a cushion or something to support your coccyx. The seats aren't uncomfortable as such, but they're not plush and relaxing to sit in either.

Thanks guys. I'm afraid the 350Z might be out then frown

I sat in/test drove some other cars today:

GT86 - love the look but can't afford but figured I'd sit in one as I passed Toyota - but was BL00DY uncomfortable!!BMW Z
MX-5 MK3.5 - comfortable but too noisy/high revs at higher speeds; not a good motorway cruiser
Merc SLK - very comfortable and surprising pull (1.8 supercharged - 181bhp?)
BMW Z4 - pretty comfortable, almost as much as the Merc, but didn't find it very engaging (2.0l)

I want to revisit the RCZ too... I feel another post coming on biggrin
