Ford Escort Mexico with TVR V8 - stolen 3/3/15 9.20pm

Hi, my beautiful Escort was stolen from Trackspeed, on the Portsmouth Road, Ripley GU23 6HB - at 9.20pm on Tuesday 3rd March 2015.

The garage was ram raid by an old Land Rover, and the Escort dragged out of the showroom on a chain, last see on CCTV being dragged towards Ripley and the A3.

Police arrived within 5 minutes - no sign of it!

Many of you will know my car from some of the Ford shows a few years ago and visits to Boxhill.

The car is totally unique, it is exactly as pictured below - Reg: DAD 422K and number 27 is still on the door and bonnet. TVR 5 liter V8 race engine under the bonnet, full race spec.

Any information please get in touch, forget the insurance money, this car is irreplaceable and just i want it back!

Please please any help or information greatly appreciated.

Hope you are reunited with your car and it is still in the condition it was when you last saw it.

How long had the car been parked up prior to being stolen? Would many people have known it was there?

I wonder though, what the hell could anybody do with such a recognisable vehicle other than destroy it?

Stripped PDQ and shell sold for a big bundle of notes for use in historic rallying most likely.

Thanks guys, really appreciate it. Thanks for posting on the TVR forum.

The engine was very unique, it was built by Dominic at TVR Power years ago, its a Takara 5 litre all aluminium race spec unit.

The shell was probably one of the best out there, Prepfab (same people that built McRae's Escorts & Porsches)worked on it for me. To build a car like that is £80k without the unit!!

Ask the Essex boys to keep an eye out for parts offered, I can't see it staying as one, unless it goes over seas. How can they hide it?

a stolen one not that long ago turned up as a barn find complete with fresh straw sprinkled on it ....
