Hi guys, I was hoping for some advice since you have all been so helpful so far.

So I got my first Aston a couple of weeks ago - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Now I'm looking at some subtle modifications.

So I've already ordered the stainless steel knobs from Tony Hall and plan at some point to get the glass switches too.

What are the best exhaust options? The sound is amazing but there just isn't enough of it. My former SL55 had a very nice loud roar when the right foot was down, and a nice low rumble at cruising and blips.

I know a few have mentioned a cat delete - how much of an improvement in sound?

What options are there - I know of the Quicksilver option that Nicholas Mee offer (I purchased the car there) for £580, or the sport/supersport rear box options at £1680.

Has anybody got personal experience of these or other options?

Side skirts - someone on here posted a pic of their car with some wider and more aggressive profile side skirts but I can't find the pic or any mentioned anywhere online. Could anyone give me some more info on these?

Is there any point whatsoever of trying to squeeze any more power out? I've been spoilt with forced induction cars in the past and more power was very simple to extract - more boost... not so much in my experience with N/A cars. In all honesty, unless there's going to be a rather noticeable increase then I won't bother.

Thanks in advance guys!

You're probably looking for something like this? Youtube: http://goo.gl/Cl9Tei

Skip to 1m20s for some pretty demented noises.

I have no affiliation or familiarity but it looked intriguing...

Bit too high pitched for me.....if you go back to the thread from last track day with y100..... There are some video clips with various cars with different levels of exhaust sounds....

Have a read through this thread:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=...

That will give you plenty of options and alternatives. Otherwise, try a search (again!). You might be surprised at what topics have been discussed already.

I had 2013 side skirts fitted to my 2007 DB9 as part of project 'Blofeld'

It's very pimpy, and when I read "Tyler Hsu" I think "Tyler Durden" BUT he's managed to get a lifting kit into a DB9. That's a very useful improvement. How many front splitters from V12V, GT3 and so on have been and willl continue to be sacrificed on speed bumps? A lifting kit would be a great aftermarket improvement that AML should offer as OEM.

Agree 100%. Went to see a couple of vanquishes and that carbon front splitter did make me worry about how long it would be before I ramned a speed hump or high kerb with it. Already done it in my 430 but that's a simple spray repair.

They work well with the other subtle changes like the Anthracite wheels, black grille and lowered slightly on to Blistein Dampers. They follow the line from the front and rear valance which fits well and in fact they fitted them as standard from around 2009.

Has the suspension collapsed on that? The wheels look massively cambered. Can't be good to drive, and looks utterly stupid.

I bet Tyler Durden would have zero interest in DB9's

That's the one, the car looks great.

Do you mind if I ask where you had it done and the cost?

It was part of the enhancements that were done by Bamford Rose as 'Project Blofeld'. Contact BR for prices now as I had mine done back in Sept 2013 so may have changed.

Would the Virage/db9.2 front bumper cover be a direct fit to match skirts?

No idea. All I know is that my side skirts were from a 2013 DB9, possible a 9.2.
