Just had 2 new Dunlop sport maxx tt tyres fitted, on closer inspection the outside tread pattern is going in the opposite direction on either side. The tyres are both fitted correctly with "outside stamped on the correct side" Have i picked up a dud tyre or is there any other reason?

They're asymmetric not directional so one will look like it's on the wrong way round.

Given that they're assymetric ("outside"), if they were directional as well you'd have to order a left and a right to have a pair.

im thinking that the garage have fitted two left tyres, otherwise the tyres will be offering two totally different performances

Dunlop don't list left- or right- tyres, just tyres.

Not necessarily. They might look "wrong", but that won't necessarily affect the performance. If they were directional, they'd have an arrow on the sidewall.

"Technologies" tab says assymetric, does not say directional.

They could be two right tyres.

In reality if those tyres really had left and right ones then this would be marked on the sidewall. You would see a directional arrow or some other similar marking, like the Outside marking you have already noticed. The tyres you have are correct, the tread patterns go in different directions according to which side of the car they are fitted.
