What's this "pre airflow" business?

Does he mean it's not a crossflow engine?

Interior differences and front end grill, pre airflow is this, like that one in the advert.

Later ones (airflow) are like this.

It is over 50 years old...what do you expect! Of course it is dated! Mind you it will weigh abut half that of a Focus & have loads more pace inside & in particular, in the boot! Just don't hit anything despite the seatbelts. You could see the accident coming, though, with loads of glass & thin pillars, no need for a reversing camera to see where you are going (backwards!)

That car is completely and utterly useless - what can you do with it?

Put is in a glass box or register and use it and then it is much the same as any other Mk1

At the end of the day it is an unused four door - give me my ratty 2 door any day at a fifth of the cost

Anyone else think the explanation is a little flimsy?
Customer fails to follow through on the brand new Cortina they ordered so someone else thinks 'oh well' and keeps it in storage for 51 years?

Looks so much better in 2-door than 4-door format, much better proportioned somehow.

Could this actually be registered to use on the road now? Or would it need to meet the latest regulations to do be registered?

I see above someone has answered the airflow query.
In answer to your second question, one of mine was the airflow model but had the engine changed from a pre-crossflow to a 1600cc crossflow.

It does happen! This other, slightly different, Ford was in storage at a dealer, brand new, unsold and unused, from 1970 until a few years ago!

Those as well - revolutionary stuff at the time. Pity it isn't the Lotus version!

I Googled to check that I was correct, but did remember that it was one of the first cars in the world with through flow ventilation.
