I have a strong interest in this 1920/s --30's furniture. Enjoy the style and looks, decided that after years of hanging onto our old lounge furniture it's time for a change, so 1920's here we come.
Has anybody else have an interest and care to share their knowledge or just discuss?

Have seen a rug, bookcase and drinks cabinet on eBay which meet my criteria.

Art Deco and Bauhaus are in my opinion the most stylish era of design. I have a few Art Deco items but I think a whole room may be a bit too much for me - I like to mix modern with old.

I don't mind a bit of Art Deco. I fitted these to the doors when I moved in: It's not a particularly Art Deco house they're in, but I like 'em!

The last time I was in the states I went into this furniture shop in a mall in Rhode Island. They have alot of art deco style stuff and it's all absolutely amazing. A bit pricey though and you may have a bit of trouble getting stuff shipped here.

I love Art Deco furniture, but to look its best it has to be pristine and I'm too lazy and clumsy to look after it properly.

I have owned some of the Bauhaus type stuff in the past, but, found it nice to look at but bloody uncomfortable. (Corbusier sofas, Breuer chairs, etc.)

These people have some nice stuff from time to time, but I despair at the prices

Thanks for interest and links. Strange isn't it that seventy + years since deco and still it looks amazing. We do currently live in a modern 1960's box, but that won't stop us making it the home we want.
Agree the price of some of the furniture is eye watering but then style always is. We are looking at it as in the pure enjoyment of living with the style and hope it will prove to be a safe investment.

It must have been a dream being an architect during the 20's/30's. The style and panache of those high rise is still stunning all these years later. The interiors are simply staggering. Today seems to be height and glass, likely this is a little unfair saying that but it's what I see.

RH makes some very good looking and incredibly large furniture, but the quality of their furniture is terrible.

We've been looking at their product for our new house and it's very poor when you get up and close to it.

I googled it TBH even with the 90% discount the chair isn't talking to me, so to speak.

Couple of armchairs on eBay which look really smart. Item number 371352839900. Note from the discription 'Art Deco style'. Chewing it over but they are top price. Also been looking at new classic three piece suite (tetrad). Heart is telling me Art Deco .

Cranked, this place has lots of stuff...

Also, this place near me...

...last time I went they had quite a bit of blonde walnut deco stuff (e.g. chairs/coffee table set, swivelling drinks cabinet etc.). Give them a call to see if they still have it.

I like Art Deco, especially the Streamline Moderne movement. Although overall I prefer the more organic shapes of Art Nouveau which immediately preceded Deco.

One day I would love to replace my sofa and armchairs with something like this:

Or this

JDW, thanks for those links. Canonbury advertise in eBay, just looking at a couple of club chairs at the moment but torn between these and a new three piece suite from tetrad. Looked at their shop via the link, managed to dribble down my shirt front!!

Perhaps a forlorn attempt trying to keep the thread alive! Came across this company that build Art Deco suites along with classic 1930's --40's suites. Looks and reads good quality.

I posted some pics on my Facebook back in August of last year about a sofa I want to buy. They're handmade by a company in London and one of their styles is an Art Deco one in a choice of leathers, of which the vintage distressed brown leather is my favourite as it's a look I have always liked.

Anyway, I made a concerted effort to find the post yesterday and I succeeded.

The company is called Oldboot and are based in Fulham, and this is the sofa I want:

two names which spring to mind when thinking of British Art Deco furniture are Hille and Epstein

If you have an interest in Art Deco you should take a visit to Eltham Palace
