I hope this works not sure but worth a go!

We all know the saying a picture is worth a thousand words so this month's competition is about telling a compelling story with a picture. The story thats most interesting, compelling or thought-provoking (to me at least) will be the winner and I'l try and feedback my thoughts on the winner and runner-ups.

You can add a short caption to your image perhaps to hint at a context to introduce the photo, but really its about the image alone telling a story - the best images are those where nothing needs filling in (information wise) and everything else is fine to leave to the imagination. Just a tip these images are usually shot wide angle (for context), have 2 or more people in them and where there are multiples of people, there can be multiple stories happening in different parts of the image - but these tips arent a rule. If want to go a little more abstract then do so.

The story can be anything - funny, sad, capture of an important moment in history (personal or public) etc. Delivery of the story is the important aspect of this month's competition - not so much the technical side of things but if you can be creative all the better.

I do hope we get some really cool images appreciate this comp takes some thought.

On a technical point, I over did the shallow depth of field so I need to go back and retake at some point.

It doesn't matter if it rains on your wedding day.

Right so its time to judge for March's competition and we have a nice interesting selection of images. I think there is story in every image but for me, the standout winner is this one by Mrs Megy:

Mrs Megy said:
I like how the image is multi-layered from background to foreground and there are multiple stories - the lovely landscape in the background to the lone man within the headstones (what's his story?), then right at the foreground the text on the headstones and how they are repeated continuously leave a very poignant and emotive story about the history of the war.

Runner up this is lovely shot by Steve. A little biased being an automotive photographer myself, this image just brings emotion as its got both mood and story and technical qualities that resonate with me personally.

Can't believe you picked my snap! Thank you.
Some very emotive photos were posted. Was a good topic. Now how to follow this subject. Bear with me while I sleep on it. Should hopefully put a post up tomorrow.
