Slow window and part time door switch
Discussion
At last some time put into the Cerbera to fix the little niggles that have appeared.
The drivers window was getting very slow to the point of needing assistance and the door switch was pretty intermitent. Armed with the great information from TimJM's excellent thread on the subject, I took the trim apart yesterday evening.
An not uncommon sight...

Someone had been in before and the cheap crimp on terminals literally fell to bits.
On the positive side it was fairly obvious and with regard to the window runners the felt looked in good order as did the motor and the mechanism for the glass.
I decided to dismantle out the window mechanism to examine it on the bench and see what was happening - A bit of googling found the various bits of chat about the riveted cover and how to remove them and screw the lid back on after overhaul. Not ideal, but not end of the world.

The motor unbolted off quite easily, and I was pleasantly suprised that the mechanism actually operated quite freely when turned by hand.
I put power to the motor and it turned well and sounded good. Popped the motor back onto the mechanism - ran it again, and it seems really good. So, I think the issue is probably all corroded connections.
Just ordered a set of superseal conenctors to refresh the whole setup. Hopefully get those on early in the week.
One thing I couldn't see was the little control box that should be in the door. Will root that out next.

I used Vehicle Wiring Product Ltd - I'm sure they're are plenty places doing simillar.
The connectors are just like Toft's photo above.
linky thing
I'll report back how mine work out.

Massive improvement on the operation of the window - turned out to just be the poor connections.
Put some silicone spray in for good measure and it works well.
Door opening is still a bit hit and miss. I think the door ECU terminals look a bit poor.
Where is a good source of those pins for the plug?
Off to China today but hopeful of ordering them in time for my return.
Cheers,
Brian

Hi Roger,
I've been called worse 😄
Here's the link
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=139...
It really looks more at door locking issues but was helpful also for stripping the door.
I took the door glass out, I used a permenant marker to ensure I located the glass and its mounts on reassembly.
Good luck
