It's the night before probably the most amazing experience I've ever encountered. Tomorrow, weather being kind I will fly in a Spit.

Goodnight all will report back later, quite excited!

I have only flown a motor glider with my brother in law so not a huge credential there! The victory roll is going to be special as long as the ceiling is high enough.

Incredible - have a great time.

In fact, film the whole thing in sound and vision with a go pro or similar, and post a link on here! Remember your mates.

Ah, so that wasn't you who overflew me tracking the M20 about half an hour ago then! I did wonder!

Just back home, absolutely...there are no words to describe it. 5 minutes in control, a fabulous wing over and 2 victory rolls!

Need to resize the photos to get them on here and will get it done ASAP!

Thought you weren't allowed to take the controls on such flights?

If I was PUT I would be deeply unimpressed if told I could not take the controls.

Can't see anything in CAP632 which expressly prohibits handling of the controls, whether ab-initio or not.

Will look forward to that. It's something I would like to do one day. Considering the two seater at Goodwood.

Okay, there still are no words to describe yesterday!!

After arriving at 9am and going through the briefing we settled down to wait our turn. There were 6 of us in total flying including me and my father, we were last.

Dad found out the plane we were in was built in the factory his mother worked at and that it was built the year he was born. Finally at around 2pm it was our turn, Dad went first as I wanted him to get his flight in just in case the weather closed in. Luckily the weather was fine for both our flights. Our pilot asked if there was anything we wanted to see while we were up. As we aren't from the area there wasn't really anything we wanted to see in particular, I wanted to go over Brands but other than that it was all about simply being in a Spit rather than sight seeing.

Dad came back and was grinning from ear to ear so I knew this was going to be good...then it was my turn.

Time to get in.

Off we go!

We headed out towards the Dartford crossing and control was handed to me near the bridge. We then banked right over Bluewater and headed towards Brands Hatch. We had a great view of the BRSCC Club Car racing this weekend. We then found some space to do 2 victory rolls, absolutely fantastic. Then it was time to head back.

Our pilot was Anna Walker.

Me and Dad.

An absolutely fantastic day and still buzzing!

Video of the flight.

Looks like it was a fantastic experience. I'll look at the video later. Thank goodness the Irish kept these two seaters flying until the early 1960s.

Sixpackalert,

Watched the video all the way through - absolutely brilliant (dead jealous)

Shame I was in the office yesterday and not in the garden as likely you flew over my house when heading towards the Bridge !

Got to admit though (and I'm sure it's down to the mic on the go-pro). The Merlin engine when idling sounded exactly same as an old knackered landrover SWB County ticking over that my parents had when I was a lad .... cool

Cheers
