pit bike supermoto vs real supermoto
Discussion
Anyone on here done pit bike supermoto on an indoor kart track ?
Some of the BSB/moto3/TT boys are using swindon karting's pit bike nights on Monday as training and its fantastic knee down/ drifting action.

Been going on my CRF 150 and loving it but my question is ...
Has anyone done both indoor on slippery kart tracks AND outdoor supermoto on full size supermoto to give some comments on the differences ?
I do pit bike SM outdoors at Whilton mill on Tuesday nights.
Excellent cheap practice for proper trackdays, my riding has come on loads going weekly. A lot of the thundersport race lads come along for practice too.
£20 for 4 hours, can't complain! The bikes do need looking after though, they aren't the toughest but parts are cheap.
I realise this doesn't answer the question.... Said race mates also go to Swindon, I'll ask their opinion on the difference

I used to race pitbike supermoto outdoors. This was back in the day when they were 125's, and Monstermoto's were the bikes to have. Not these 140/160's they have now and I don't think monstermoto exists anymore. Brilliant fun, I only stopped as my local track (matchams) stopped running sessions so often, it used to be every sunday and you would have a full paddock of mini motos and pitbikes, but now they just race pitbikes 6 times a year.
Back when I was about 14:

Sorry no useful input, just reminiscing

Sorry to take this thread of topic but does anyone know a place where they rent pitbikes, similar to m4karting but with pitbikes instead of minimotos? Brooklandsgocarts have pitbikes but you have to have 1-2-1 tuition and with 10 lads already having bikes, we would rather turn up and have fun
I wanted to rent a bike for pitbike ... but like you say .. there isnt that option anywhere ...so just waded in and bought a CRF 150 to do the job.
Full supermoto looks great ... but my worry is that grippier tarmac means you arent drifting the bike (one of lifes joys) nearly as much as the tyre is getting plenty of grip. ....plus higher speeds ..mean bigger bills when it goes wrong !!
Perhaps I will leave my enduro bike as it is until I find someone who has done both and/or have a go on a supermoto try out day ...
http://www.supermotodaz.co.uk/ was one about running one in SE

ok so I didnt get the info I needed from anywhere else so we converted an 08 ktm 300 exc to supermoto trim and timed it against the crf 150 pit bike that we use at swindon karting.
we went to a small test track down near worthing and the bikes were very evenly matched ... and importantly equal fun !
supermotodaz is going to run a tester in the new year and would recommend that if you are in the south
