How long from build date to UK delivery?

Hi, I've got a build date of 13th Feb 2017 for my new Audi car order (being built at Ingolstadt). Can anyone tell me how long it might take to get UK delivery after that? I'm a bit concerned that if the car is registered after 1st April 2017 then it will fall into new car tax rules.

4-5 weeks after build was the official line from my supplier (a VW Touareg), it turned up in about 4 weeks.

You'd think so, wouldn't you?

But seeing as the build date is currently 10 months after the order was placed, he's not committing himself...

My cupra 290 is quoted at 2 weeks. Surely 2-4 weeks is a kind of general rule? Suppose it depends on what ship is carrying it.

Build weeks are down to the vehicles popularity, something like a SEAT will come through much more quickly than an Audi or Volkswagen due to them being much less popular.

For example the standard VW lead time is 3 months for most models, although certain models and then certain trim and engine configurations can vary within that. The new Tiguan has build weeks anywhere between 12-20 at the moment.

Depending on where the Audi is being built will also have an impact on delivery times. Shipping should take about a month for a car built in Europe.

It was nearly 3 years ago but my RS4 was less than a month from build to collection. I think I got lucky and it only spent a couple of days at the port. The other thing to note is my build week jumped quite a lot so there's every chance it'll get built sooner than is currently planned.
