I had a look through the list of previous competitions and wondered about setting something festive - after all it is nearly Christmas! However, I thought that was a bit “cliché” so decided to challenge everyone to take a picture in a familiar environment but to use their full range of creativity in terms of subject and lighting. This month’s competition is “indoors”. It can be anywhere but I will be looking for something that tells a story and captures the essence of the environment – for example the warmth of your home, the bustle of the shopping mall or the chatter in the pub. The image here is the essential part but account will be taken of good photographic technique and originality . Good luck!

Rules
The photos taken must be your own work
The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.
The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for following month and judges it at the end of the month
Entries and discussion on this single thread please.
All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.
Photos entered should be no bigger than 750 pixels wide for a landscape photo and 600 pixels high for a portrait photo due to the PH squash factor. Links to larger versions are permissible.

Will the mods please make this a sticky? Thanks

Well we are now half way through December and no-one has ventured forth with any sort of image..... Does anybody take photos indoors? What happens if nobody enters and so no winner? I thought his might present an interesting opportunity seeing as we will be spending a lot of time inside over Christmas and it is pretty dark outside anyway....

I'd assume that people will take more shots during Christmas when people are off...

Xmas tree by Ryan G, on Flickr

Xmas tree when you move most of the sliders on Lightroom and zooming in half way through the exposure laugh. Good fun when the weather is rubbish and you don't want to go outside.

Don't think I've ever partaken in this before, but I'll have a go.

Walked past the lounge the other day and loved how it was looking and how the light was bouncing off my bike:

And a very Happy New Year to everyone. An interesting collection of photographs this month. However, sticking to the brief there can only be one real winner and that is Nigel_O for his picture of the Birmingham Bullring.

A special mention to Gilhooligan for his imaginative LR manipulation of his Christmas tree - you can still make out the fairy!
However - over to you Nigel for January competition
Good luck everybody!
