Veyron Running costs – Anyone had one?
Discussion
Afternoon,
Just looking for some help here. I’m trying to get some information on running a Veyron including the costs etc.
Now – like everyone I’m sure I’ve heard the supposed ridiculous running costs BUT what I’m intrigued to know is how “realistic” are these costs.
For example I’ve heard the wheels need replaced every x amount of tyre changes and they like £30k. Now – do people actually buy new wheels or just not both because of course if the car is only pootling around Mayfair/Monaco one doesn’t need the wheels to be speed rated to 250MPH. Same with the tyres – are there tyres for example that are only speed rated to 200Mph for example that some owners use?
The reason I ask is I know a lot of mega hyper cars do not follow their recommended maintenance schedule. For example cars with bag tanks that need replaced every 10 years – I’ve seen lots of these cars where they haven’t changed the tanks & don’t get serviced every year….sadly normally because they’re not used.
Likewise – where do owners get their cars looked after? Do they have to go back to the factory? Are there service centres in the UK? I know HR Owen have a sales centre in London but do they service cars as well? Are they any specialist out there who look after them yet?
Any other help is much appreciated

Not an owner, but an annual service at an official Bugatti dealer is, apparently, at least £10-20k, so they're not cheap to run. As above, Bugatti HR Owen service them in North Acton, London, near / at their Lambo service centre. Have heard talk (at a show) of one indy garage in Buckinghamshire perhaps able to do a service for £5-10k, but an indy stamp may not go down too well on that type of car.
SupercarDriver did a very good video with Carl Hartley talking about living with his Veyron:

Thanks everyone for the help.
I do remember some guy posting on here about his plan to try and run one "on the cheap". I seem to remember he was planning on trying to get a set of wheels made etc as he felt that would be cheaper than buying the official ones. Don't remember anything come from it to be honest.
I will continuing digging - interested to find about whether there are specialists out there although it does seem to be the preferred route is either factory or official dealer. Interesting as I know for example a lot of McLaren F1s are looked after by Lanzante which is not seen as a lesser alternative to the McLaren factory.
I am just trying to understand exactly what needs doing/what is done/who by etc.
Anyway thanks again everyone. Keep it coming!

No use to the topic, but an amusing story. I asked a Russian I was consulting for about the running costs, as they had four Veyrons (one in each continent/house). Were they concerned about the wheel replacement thing etc.
They shrugged and said "The boat costs more than a million to fill."
I felt very small at that.

I just can't fathom how a person goes about earning that amount of money. It really is incredible how some individuals live. They shrugged and said "The boat costs more than a million to fill."

Fair play to them, but it is intriguing.

I believe this was achieved. It currently wears the reg BUG 1B and can be seen in pictures with a different set of alloys on it.I do remember some guy posting on here about his plan to try and run one "on the cheap". Bet Richard Branson reads the Forbes rich list on a weekend and wishes he had another 50 billion like that kid Zuckerberg.

the sticky point will always be the wheel + tyre combo:

Then the oil change:

I noticed that the latest Mansory Veyron has a different set of wheels that they probably comissioned themselves. Doubt very much it costs them $120k for a set of wheels.
Maybe an avenue worth exploring.

The tyre and wheel issues are nowhere as expensive as they were and servicing costs have also been reduced in price. Bugatti dealers worldwide sold 70 of the 90 cars that changed hands last year and all major work is done 'locally'. No need to get the car back to HQ. Cheaper than servicing an LM 002?
