BBC reporting a C130 has crashed in the USA with loss of life
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-40565556

On the radio an eyewitness was quoted as seeing the aircraft spiralling down with one engine emitting lots of smoke.

C130s are tough old birds, and don't need all the engines to stay up. I wonder what was so catastrophic as to bring one down in this way.

RIP to the deceased.

The way the wreckage is lying on the ground indicates to me a flat spin of some sort. It looks like it crashed inverted too.

Does the designation "KC130" indicate that it was a tanker variant?

Yes, it would. The US Marines use KC-130s to refuel their helicopter on Osprey fleet.

Must be close to an air base as reports (and the video) say a crash truck sprayed foam.
