Tyres - Michelin RS or Metzeler M7RR
Discussion
I've been reading PH for years but never subscribed, currently riding a 2015 BMW R1200RS and looking for a more sporty tyre than the Roadtec 01s I have at the moment..
I've read a lot about the M7RR and there's a very good thread on here actually extolling its virtues, but I wondered if anybody had direct experience of both tyres ? I have previously quite liked the feel of a Michelin 2CT but the PR4 is far too touring oriented, I'd like something more sporty, pointy but equally safe in the rain.
Usage is always spring/summer/autumn in mainly good weather but it rains in the UK so it needs to perform well at speed in the rain too.
Just looking for comments really, any experience of both of these tyres.

Hi pal.
I’m on a 17 S1000R changing from M7RRs to Power RSs. I’ve found the M7s to be amazing in wet and dry even on track.
I’m only changing as the RS tyres have a softer carcass which will hopefully allow a bit more feel from the front. I’m not expecting much in the way of wet weather grip, but interested to see.
I have been fitting more and more Pilot Road 5s on the R1200RS at work. So just as another option, if you’re not tempted I don’t think you can go too far wrong with the M7RRs

Bridgestone S21, best tyre I've ever used.
I'm saying that from knowledge of these previous tyres
- Pirelli DRC
-Michelin pilot road 3 and 4
-Michelin pilot power 2ct
-Continental contiattack road 2
-Dunlop qualifier 2 (I think)
I have also used Pirelli supercorsas but they really aren't a suitable all round road tyre tbh.
S21 offers so much feel, confidence and grip. Also for me the tip in speed feels nicely balanced between fast and slow.

Thanks for all the comments, OCD, how is the RS in wet but warm roads ? All tyres are pretty much OK on the road in the dry but wet conditions does separate the pack.
I've never been very happy with Bridgestone tyres, they were OEM fitment on some bikes, Kawasaki's in particular and they always felt wooden and lacking in feel but still gripped reasonably well. Not inspiring but probably perfectly good. I'm looking for feel, a confidence inspiring tyre.
The boxer twin only has 120ish bhp so it's never going to stretch a tyre in the dry, anything would be fine, but in the wet I'd like to know it's going to remain grippy but more importantly still give good feel and feedback.

I was the same regarding Bridgestone always last on list of tyres to try that said id now not use anything else, they are hugely confidence inspiring and full of feel.I've never been very happy with Bridgestone tyres, they were OEM fitment on some bikes, Kawasaki's in particular and they always felt wooden and lacking in feel but still gripped reasonably well. Absolutely fine. I used them in the wet on track and the cold and wet over two winters ... no complaints.
