I'm looking to go to the Singapore F1 this September and checking the different tickets available, at the moment I'm leaning towards just the 3-day Premier Walkabout tickets that seem to give general access to Zones 1,2,3,4.. for around £300...

Has anyone been in recent years and can recommend if this is a good buy?

Any recommendations of a reliable website to actually buy the tickets?

TIA.

Ollie.

I'm headed back there this year. Last time I had a Bay Grandstand ticket which gave a great view of the waterfront but not so great for viewing the track. This time I've got a Pit Combination ticket so hopefully will see a bit more of the on track action. I'm not massive on the after GP entertainment as its usually absolutely rammed at this circuit - lots of people seem to buy tickets to watch the music and head off for the main stage before the race has finished - but I love Singapore and the fact that the circuit is surrounded by bars, clubs and eateries all within walking distance. I think the ticket you mention should give some good close up views of the action - hope you enjoy it .

First time going, I’m in the turn 1 stand. Stupid expensive, better be worth it.

Yes, last went in 2015. My recommendation would be getting grandstand tickets if you can afford them. It is so flat and being a street circuit you may struggle to see much especially with the main crowds. The organisers do have a few elevated platforms but you would need to get there very early to secure the space and being so hot/humid it is not fun being outside for hours on end to save a spot.

It is a wicked atmosphere though & would recommend it

hope you got a ticket OP, think they are sold out now ?

I've been for the last few years on PW ticket but succumbed to a grandstand this year.

PW pros
some good bleachers type stands including a well hidden one on outside of t3, and some on pit straight as well
you get access to all zones & all entertainment stages
you can get close to the support race pits/assembly area if you're interested
also access to the transit area drivers have to cross between track and pits (you can sometimes get photos/autograph but not on race day when they have their game face on biglaugh)
you can get onto the track from the pit straight after the race (SG is only place where I've been asked by a steward "do you need directions to the track invasion ?" smile)
decently priced food at the hawker centre under the singapore flyer

Cons
not many
it gets busy on raceday , so you need to be there early to get your towel down (easier if there are a few of you to to beer /food runs and still keep your place)

\i recommend you use Friday to scout around and work out where you want to watch from.

Singapore is a fantastic place to visit (if a bit expensive for a drink )

b19rak - I'm in T2 grandstand, also stupid expensive, but got my hotel partly on loyalty points so man maths kicked in

If anyone wants to meet up for a beer let me know. Arriving Wednesday.

More info from the thread I posted on last year. Hope some of it might be useful to someone
Thread here

Get an MRT card for the underground - its cheap to use goes most places you need and its air conditioned. Best way to get to the track as well.
taxis are relatively cheap as well, but dont fall for the executive taxi stuff at the airport. Regular ones are fine and cheaper

Touristy non f1 stuff - Singapore Walks - guided walking tours- highly recommended if you want to learn a bit about the history of Singapore. The Changi ww2 one is very sobering.Done a few of them and found them all very good.
Night safari at the zoo supposed to be v good, not done it myself.
singapore flyer big wheel but once the track is closed this is in zone 1 ticket area.
roftop bars- flight (i think) on marina bay sands and 1-altitude but the prices reflect the view. There are a good few more
Sentosa island reached by taxi or monorail if you want to go to the beach.
Eating - you can eat cheap in hawker centres - you should do at least once for the experiance anyway- or you can eat very expensively in Sg.
Try the local food - its great and plenty of western options as well. Try kaya toast for breakfast.
drinking - go for happy hour deals if in orchard/marina bay/river. On the riverside my recommendation is Brewerkz mircrobrewery. Beer starts cheap at lunchtime and gets progressively more expensive through the day / evening. Buy a pitcher in the aftenoon and watch the world go by.beer
Cheap souveneirs - some of the shops in mall halfway down orchard at somerset or bugis market (take an mrt)
I go a lot for work, so know some more local bars and restaurants in east coast park as well if your interested.
F1 - you can usually walk most of the track on wed or thu evening except the pit straight

it gets hot. Very very hot.and humid. really humid.wobble
this is just the stuff that comes to mind - there is plenty more to do/see - chinatown, little india etc

The whole experience in the build up is brilliant. The viewing isn't so good at the circuit.

Singapore is a lovely place to visit.

The entertainment is usually good too. They usually get top quality acts playing.

It's hot enough as it is, but the massive crowds add to the heat and discomfort.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts after the trip. (I assume you bought tickets).
Singapore is a great F1 experience. I live here and love it. I'm not sure I would travel from UK just for the the Grand Prix though.
I was at Silverstone this year, (First time in 26 years) I had a great time. But for me SG. is much better, as the whole set up is for family fun, with great music between the on track action. This year we have Liam Gallagher, Simply Red and the Sugar Hill Gang headlining.

Hope you get to enjoy it.
