First repair but an easy one. Boot lamp wasn't working. Aside from there being no festoon bulb fitted rolleyes, the circuit wasn't complete so I took off the boot switch. It prises apart quite easily but careful you don't lose the two little springs inside. A bit of wet and dry on the surfaces and the switch makes and breaks OK. However the little 3mm screw and nut used to make the earth circuit was very corroded. Replaced with an M4 nut, bolt and washer. Sorted, beats the heck out of £30 for a new one!

There is another 2 pin socket in the vicinity which puzzled me, it's not connected to anything. I'm used to redundant wires on the loom on the Chimaera, it being a Rover item, but I'd thought the Cerbera loom was a bespoke item. My suspicion is that it was to provide a circuit to the boot switch from the alarm so that forcing open the boot would set it off. And then had second thoughts maybe?

The wiring diagram shows an optional high level brake light on the boot lid? J39
Check the colours on the wires?

The switches rover 200 items I think. I had the same issue when I first got my cerb. I forgot there was that extra connection. I'll have to try it as I'm planning a third brake light at the top of the rear screen. Always feel a little vulnerable with the lights so low down.

High level brake light is a good shout. Probably a requirement in some countries. Black and green/purple like the wiring diagram.

I'd read on here it may be a Rover boot switch but all the ones on ebay are nothing like it. Cleaned up well anyway!

It looks like a Honda one of that era, so try Rover 200/400/600.

The boot switch with the springs etc.. I had to replace mine. It is an MG Rover Door courtesy light switch YUE100570. I paid £18.99 inc P&P for a new-old-stock part from AK Motorsport
