Any help with these? One is working o/s, n/s is not so i don’t think it is the pump? Looks like there is a blockage in the nozzle or the full pressure isn’t getting to it as it partially comes out but without pressure.

Do they run on separate lines / pumps?

Hopefully I just need a new nozzle!

Will have another check, had a look under the bonnet and it all runs in the bonnet and is clipped around the edges to keep it tidy, but it seems both nozzles run off the same line which is odd that the first one isn’t working which is why I think it’s the nozzle!

Will try and get it off / clean it.

I had exactly this in November (my car is a 2009 reg) when 1 nozzle wouldn’t spray, the other did.

What I did was take it off and put a blower into the tube and pumped some air in. I felt a blockage go, and after reassembly it works fine.

Hints: I used a camera lens cleaner consisting of a rubber bulb with a nozzle on one end to provide the air pressure inside the tune. Simply placed the nozzle in the tube and pumped once and the blockage was gone.

Hint 2: when replacing the water jet nozzle, place the rear into the hole and the. they have to push right back before trying to push the front in. If you don’t you risk breaking off the front tab meaning the water jet won’t be firm in the mounting hole. Don’t ask how I found out that snippet...... but at least replacements are not too expensive rolleyes

Still not working, i have bought a new nozzle (for about £3) to give that a try ... reluctant to remove any of the tubing as it looks a right pain to replace!

Odd that 1 side is fine and the other reduced pressure rather than a full blockage ...

Anyone got the part numbers or a link to where i can buy the pump, etc?

i have tried moving / pulling the tubing from the driverside nozzle but nothing changes, the replacement nozzles i bought were pattern part rubbish so i need to buy some more.

When you say about blowing air down the tube do you just mean towards the pump from the nozzle end or removing at the pump?

I can confirm the pipes are a pain to get to! I had the feed pipe to the two way splitter blew off. If removing for later refit suggest taping string to washer jet ends before pulling through to aid refitting. Also recommend cable tying the flexible pipe on all the junctions and unions.

Took both nozzles off and blasted the with air and swapped them over, also used the compressed air on the feed into the nozzles.

Works much better, not 100% but i am wondering if i ran the washer too low (there was a warning before i topped it up), filled the washer fluid up and it improved alongside using the compressed air, all in all, all good smile

Bump an old topic ...

Just took my car out of winter hibernation and the windscreen washer isn’t working.

I cannot hear a pump working but I turned the lights on and the headlight washer worked but the screen did not.

Air flows freely through the screen nozzles.

Anyone know the pump price / fitting process, is it a shared pump for screen / headlights as I replaced it appx 3 years ago.

I think there are two separate pumps on the reservoir bottle, one for the windscreen and another one for the headlight washers. It’s one bottle for both. Mine had to be replaced last year due to a crack, which apparently is a common problem. The first thing to do would probably be to check the cable connectors as it’s possible one is loose or has come away. Richard at Redpants has a good page on this and he has posted a video which covers replacement of the washer bottle, but there is some useful information in there which may help you solve your issue. Hope that helps a bit. Good luck.

Thanks, it looks like there are two pumps so I am guessing the screen one has gone this time.

The bottle holds screen wash and there are no leaks, plus the headlamp washer worked.

I’ll double check all tomorrow as I only had 5 mins between beers / bbq!

I imagine you've done it already but before you buy a new pump check this connector in the top edge of the bonnet. The tube on mine kept popping off and stopping the windscreen washers from working hence the cable tie on it now. Cheap fix.

Ah, mine has the same problem, so thanks for posting. How did you get the Y-shaped connector bit out from within the bonnet cavity? I've tried to pull the one on my car out, so that I can connect the feeder tube to it, but I can't get anything to grip on it. It's driving me crazy!

Cheers Pete, although I’ve had both nozzles off to put compressed air through them and it was all connected up.

Need to get the bubble off the car and have another look today.

I’m sheepishly wondering if the fluid has ran low ... at least it’s a cheap fix!

I just stuck my finger through the hole and pulled it and there was enough slack on the pipes to get it to where it is on the photo. If yours is too far in to grab with a finger maybe reshape one of those oversized paper clips and try to fish it out with that.
