Took my car in for 5th service the car has done 40k and I was told I need front discs main dealer price was £2200 not including pads!

I have gone on Euro car parts and found some Bembo discs and pads for around £700.
Has anyone fitted any lately and found a good deal?

£2200 seem a tad expensive, I don’t mind using a main dealer for the stamp in my book

I've just done the rears on my 2007 V8V and got the discs from Autodoc. Genuine Brembos at £151.39 delivered. Arrived in just a few days.

There's a few options rather than using the main dealer.

Eurocarparts (using the endless supply of discount codes) and Rick Fraser (BMG autoparts). I've used both of these with great success.

I've not tried Autodoc yet, but seem to be getting good reviews.

I was quoted a ridiculous amount from AM as well, but would rather do it myself and save a small fortune. The AM brake disc/pads removal and installation is no different to any other car. Don't be frightened by the badge.

That's a good point, does the car in question use to the larger diameter 2 piece rotors (rather than the standard 1 piece casting) ?

Therefore, myself (and perhaps) others didn't realise.

If so, then maybe that is why the AM quote is the price it is...........

Yes...the Vantage "S" and all the MY2012.25 cars onwards have the 2 piece 380mm brakes with 6 pot calipers

so not the same parts as the earlier Vantage.....

I was thinking about this while on a rather dull call just now... The early R35 GTR also runs a 380x34mm front 2 piece disc made by Brembo and there are plenty of high quality aftermarket replacements available for it.

Looking at the technical details on the Brembo website, I think the rotors (not the bells) would actually be interchangable...

GTR

V8S

Based off that, I think these would also work as a replacement rotor for the V8S at half the price:

Ive noticed that 2014 Vantages although the same 380mm diameter the discs reverted back to one piece and I was wondering if these are a direct replacement ? as they are significantly cheaper

The car is a 2014 Vantage S
I did look on Euro car parts and put in the reg number and got a price.
So would they be the wrong ones for the car?
I would be looking at changing pads and discs for the front.

Before replacing discs I would check their thickness, manufacturers specify a minimum thickness and If it is comfortably above that just replace the pads and follow the correct bedding in procedure.
I have had the same issue this week with my DD the discs are not worn, no lip, and are well above minimum thickness.

A knowledgable and reliable source on the German Aston Martin forum says: Yes, the "sliding" and the "co-cast" disc versions are interchangeable!

Yes, the standard and 2-piece rotors are interchangeable on MY12+ cars that have 6-piston front brake calipers.

Getting confused so can you buy Standard discs and use the Vantage S pads on them?
I have been informed you can only get them from a main dealer.

latest numbers i've found for all four wheels with new pads and rotors for a 2007 vantage v8 was about $400-450. about $80 a piece for rotors and 20-40 per axle for pads using scuderia for rotors and ebay for pads, assuming a DIY job. it's a very simple job and just about any mechanic can do it if that's what you want. should take about three hours at most, maybe only one if the guy knows what he's doing. i just replaced all four sets of pads in less than an hour and i'm no mechanic. i shouldn't think it would take an additional two hours for rotors, but i could be wrong. will need a floor jack, jack stand and a few common tools. (does not include wear indicators)
