Door Mirror Grub screw ?
Discussion
Not been around for a while! Hope someone can help.
I am trying to et my Griff back on the road after it has been laid up for a few years. One niggle I have is a loose drivers side door mirror, hoping I can get to the grub screw by cutting down an allen key, does anyone know what sive it is? 4mm?

Yes, M6 thread, 4mm key.
Are you aware of this neat little mod?

I have a 1" piece of tube (which was castellated and a slot for the wire then cross drilled, a box tool, with a handle) to lock the threaded boss on correctly, THEN drilled the door through the rear leading edge of the door into the recess (which you cannot see anyway) and used a standard ball headed allen, locking the tower onto the then tight boss. (refilling the hole with sealant)

PS, You will need to envisage where the mirror and the grub will need to be, locked onto the car and maybe drill the door prior to doing any work (to enable you to lock the boss onto the car) but also then remove the tower/mirror from the boss. I must of done 30-40 this way in the past, and was given the tip by the factory...in the mid 90's
