.... this Christmas?

I am not seeing the family over this Christmas so I have treated myself to something special on the gourmet chocolate front.

https://www.zotter.at/en

Not cheap by any stretch of the imagination but it will ruin you for other chocolate. Cadbury just tastes like cow turds after trying this stuff. Just amazing. And hey, who knows what might happen so enjoy it while you can. smile

It doesn't have to be food or drink but has anyone else gone for something extra special?

Sort of, we don't normally spend loads on the kids because the grandparents do spoil them but this year we asked them what wold they like (8 & 10yo) one replied with a mobile phone (The eldest) and the youngest wanted a Nintendo Switch. But after the year that we have been dealt we decided to get them these gifts (Mostly due to lack of holiday, having to self entertain whist we worked from home and listen to numerous conference calls) so I'm looking forward to Christmas Morning when they open the presents and they have the 'expensive' gifts that they asked for.

I tried that, but he didn't like the jacket, couldn't hold the fork properly and wouldn't sit still.

In the grand scheme of things that shows well-adjusted kids with a concept of the value of money so you should be proud

We normally limit our spending but have doubled our amount this year. As our kids are 16 and 18 it's difficult to know what to get them but my daughter asked for a ticket to go and see Evanescence next year - made the shopping easier for the wife as I am going too smile

Michelin Star meal, and a box of discounted wine from the same restaurant, with a bonus meal for 2 in the next 2 years...

Just arrived!

Oh yeah, that too. And we added BT Sport so that we can watch the Leeds games now they're back in the Premier League

Excellent idea. Can you travel? We're in tier 2. I'll leave the tea and some biscuits out, if you and my Mrs need anything, I'll be in the shed.

I think you've posted this elsewhere and a while back too.

I love it and showed the wife to gauge her reaction with a view of getting something similar for her, for Christmas, obviously of our dogs not yours!

She isn't getting one, she hated it.

Thanks, they are good kids and get on well.

As above been a rubbish year for a number or reasons. So I decided the 18 son should have a PS5 and the 19 year old daughter should have a couple of nights away with her trainee paramedic boyfriend.
Gave up trying to get a PS5 and the original hotel and now it’s replacement have both closed!
