I expect this isn't new news for most of you, but if you're looking to take out/renew your connected drive subscription, BMW are dong their usual 30% off for Black Friday deal.

If one of these packages is purchased does it just communicate with the car remotely? Thinking of upgrading the sat nav and seems a decent time to upgrade with it being cheaper.

Depends on the model, I think.

I’ve only ever done USB map updates, but the latest ‘Medium’ package, says it will update remotely. I’ve just bought that package, but I’ve a feeling my car doesn’t support ‘over the air updates’. So I’ve no doubt I’ll have to do it via usb again.

I like the ‘real time traffic’ too.

I'm a bit confused by this offer and the connected drive services.

I have a 2015 3 series estate. Is there any update to apple car play bmw are offering? Or is this all just map updates etc that you get 30% off...? I didnt realise you even had to update. rofl I just use waze quite happily.

Thanks OP. I have been registered since I bought the car in Feb 2017. Anything that is usefully discountable I already have until 20 Feb 2022. Thanks for heads-up anyway.
