Manual or automatic
Discussion
A question mostly for the police officers on here.
If you stop a car for an any reason are you going to be looking for if they have a licence for the type of car they are driving.
I.e if they are driving a manual would it immediately jump out at you if they have an automatic only licence? With the numbers growing of automatic only licences this must come up at some point.
A driving licence is a pretty quick read for a copper. It would be 78 in column 12.
Similarly, needing corrected eyesight is 01 in column 12

I know someone who took an automatic test but got a full license. Can't be the only one to have got lucky like that. I suspect it happened a lot back in the day when it was rare. Probably not so much now when most cars sold are auto.
I know someone who took a motorcycle test and but got a "A" pass for a car. He kept the car licence.Drawweight said:

When you do a check it will flash up 'auto car only' or similar. If you stop a car for an any reason are you going to be looking for if they have a licence for the type of car they are driving.
